Angulimala - Angulimala - A story of the power of loving-kindness. ANGULIMALA, A story about the power of loving-kindness (translated from Love in Buddhism booklet) Thich Nguyen Tibet In ancient times there was a son of a Brahmin (the highest "monk" class in India) lived under the reign of King Pasenadi, of Kosala kingdom. His name is ahimsaka (failure). He was sent to Taxila city to study. ahimsaka is very intelligent and obedient to the teacher, so he is loved by both his teacher and his wife. This has made practitioners jealous of him. So they went to the teacher and accused Ahimsaka of having an unjust moral relationship with his teacher. At first, no teacher did not believe them; but after hearing that many times, he thought it was true and vowed to take revenge on Ahimsaka. The teacher thought that killing students would scandalize his bad influence. Anger urged him to suggest an unimaginable explosion for the young and innocent Ahimsaka young man. He told the student to kill a thousand people and bring back the thumbs of each person to pay tuition for teaching him. Of course, the young man did not want to think about such a terrible thing. So he was kicked out of the teacher's house and returned to his parents' family. When his father learned why Ahimsaka had been fired, he was furious with his son and refused to listen to the explanation. On the same day, when the rain poured down, the father ordered Ahimsaka to leave the house. Ahimsaka must leave the house. Ahimsaka ran to his mother and asked for advice. But she could not resist her husband's decision. Ahimsaka then went to his fiancee's house (according to a long tradition of engagement before going to real marriage in India). But when the family found out why Ahimsaka was driven out of school, they also drove him away. Ahimsaka's shame, anger, fear and despair made him mad. In that extreme pain, his mind only recalled his harsh command: collecting a thousand human fingers. And so he began to plunge into the slaughter of such a murder, the fingers that collected him hung them on the branches. But they were destroyed by crows and hawks, and then he brought a finger ring to keep track of the number. Because of this, he gradually became aware of the name Angulimala (who wears the finger ring) and became the hero of the countryside. The king himself heard the killing of Angulimala and ordered him to be arrested. When Mantani, Ahimsaka's mother, knew the king's intention, she went into the forest with desperate efforts to save her son. At that time, Angulimala's collar had one finger, which was a thousand. The Buddha knew the mother's attempt to stop her son and thought that if He did not intervene, Angulimala, looking for the last person to make a thousand, would meet his mother and he could kill her. . In that case, he will suffer longer for his evil karma. Due to compassion, the Buddha went to the forest. After several days of sleeplessness, Angulimala was very tired and almost exhausted, he was eager to find the last way to kill a thousand and complete his mission, determined to kill the first person he met. When looking down from a hidden place in the mountain, He saw a woman on the road below. He wanted to fulfill his vow to have a thousand fingers, but when he approached, he saw that person as his mother. At that time, the Buddha was also coming, and Angulimala immediately decided to kill the other monk in place of his mother. He immediately swung the knife to follow the Buddha. But the Buddha still moved before him. Angulimala could not catch Him. Finally, he shouted: "Hey, that mendicant, stand back! Stop!", And the Enlightened One answered: "I have been standing for a long time, it is you who have not stopped yet!" Angulimala could not understand the meaning of these words. So he asked again: "Hey mendicant, why did you say that you stopped and I still haven't stopped?" The Buddha replied: "I said that I stopped because I renounced the killing of beings. I have renounced violence, massacred all species and I have settled in the heart for all beings, the heart of patience and wisdom observed by mindfulness. But you have not given up on killing and cruel treatment of others and have not yet settled in compassion and compassion for all sentient beings. Therefore, he is still a person who has not stopped yet. ”Hearing these words, Angulimala was reminded of reality and thought, these were the words of a sage. It must be that he is a leader of the mendicant, indeed, he must be the Enlightened One, he must have come here only for the purpose of making the light visible. throwing weapons and asking the Blessed One to receive him into the mendicant congregation, the Buddha approved it when the king and his soldiers came to arrest Angulimala. they see that he is in the monastery of the Buddha. Knowing that Angulimala had renounced his evil ways and became a monk, the king and the gods all agreed to leave this position. During the time Angulimala enthusiastically practiced meditation. Angulimala still has no peace of mind because even during calm meditation, false Religion often remembers the past with the tragic screams of unfortunate victims.Due to one karmic retribution, while going to beg on the street, Sunkong became the target of all kinds of sticks, stones thrown in and often returned to the monastery of a bleeding head, covered with bruises and bruises, and then the Buddha reminded him: "This Angulimala, you abandoned your evil deeds, put your rings on. This is the consequence of the evil karma that you have created in this life. It would have been that evil karma would make me suffer through countless lives if I had not seen him before. ”One morning, while on the road to begging for alms in Savatthi, Venerable Angulimala heard someone crying. When the false Religion knew it was a pregnant woman who was suffering from labor and had difficulties in giving birth, the author thought that all beings in this world must suffer. and again with the Buddha the suffering of the poor woman, he advised the false Religious to speak up the true vows, which later became Anggulimala Paritta (Angulimala guardian mantra). the woman was suffering, the false man sat down from her a veil and said the following words: "Naa, from day t i attained Arhat, I never intentionally kill any living being's life. because he did not have found many good friends and helped with good advice and advice, he became steadfast and dedicated to the practice of Dharma and meditation. Thus, the evil karma of his position has been good and overwhelmed by his career and his mind has been completely eliminated except for contraband or. The Buddha spoke of the Angulimala venerable: "Whoever uses the wickedness of good karma Illuminates this world As the moon escapes from the cloud" The power of compassion is always stronger than any evil karma. And that is also an absolute condition for enlightenment.END=NAM MO SAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.9/5/2019.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.
