     Buddha asked A Nan:  
- What do you think is listening, what is not heard? 
     Nan and the masses all said Buddha: 
- When the bell hits, we can hear. When the bell stopped, the reverberation was stopped, not listening.
     Tathagata told La La La to ring the bell, then asked Aanda:  
- Is there a sound? 
     Nan and the masses all responded:  
- There is a sound. 
     Shortly after a pause, Buddha asked:  
- Is there a sound? 
     Nan and the masses responded:  
- No sound. 
     Later, La La La hit a bell. Buddha asked again: 
- Is there a sound? 
     Nan and the masses all responded:  
- There is a sound. 
     Buddha asked A Nan:  
- What do you think is a sound, how is there no sound? 
     Ananda and the masses all said that Buddha: 
- When the bell rang, it was called a sound, when the bell stopped, the sound was stopped, it was called no sound. 
     Buddha told Nan and mass: 
- Your words are self-destructive! 
     Mass and A Nan at the same time white Buddha:  
- Why do we call them chaos? 
     Buddha said: 
- I asked about what they said when they heard it, I asked about the language, he spoke the language, the hearing and the answer was like that, not what is disorder? 
- A Nan! When the sound stopped, he said that he did not listen. If he did not listen, then he would have to listen to death, and like a dry tree, when the bell rang, what would he know? Do you know if it is not the ceiling, or whether or not it must be heard because of him, but the city? If Tanh sounds true, who knows?

EXPLAIN

     According to the normal habits of people, when they hear, they will hear, when they do not speak, they will not listen, so the listener runs after the sound, so the ears ( base ) are stuck with the sound ( ceiling ). This is something that Buddha rebukes as " disruptive ", because when the bell ends, it is said to not listen, if you do not hear, the hearing must kill, when there is sound, how can you hear it anymore.

     Therefore, he preached: " Knowing whether or not it is the ceiling, or whether or not it must be heard, because he should become a city. If Tanh sounds true, who knows the nature? "Because knowing whether to speak or not is due to hearing or not hearing, but not hearing, because listening is always available, it's just that we don't pay attention. . Being heard and not hearing is because we do not know ourselves; and if the hearing does not have a time not to ring the bell, then it is impossible to know the hearing.

     The Buddha preached: " The ceiling is in the nature of hearing, there is birth and death, not the nature of hearing according to the tranquility of birth and death. He was still crazy to admit that the ceiling is hearing, strange to not be fooled for Often Is the passage? "  Usually is the passage, meaning that when there is a new sound, it is heard, when there is no sound, it is not heard; but the fact that "no" is not an unheard-of hearing, a "yes" is not a hearing that arises.

     It is a problem that anyone can understand the permanence of hearing, so he concludes this Amitabha by saying: " It should not be said that the static and congenital generals say there is no listening ", because Whether or not there are static, congested partner pairs, listening is still present. When it comes to Nhi Cac, we still have to think about the other properties of Sau Can, in Sau Can even though there is less unevenness, but there is no base that loses the purity and the common foot of it.

     In order to better understand, the Buddha gave the example of a person who fell asleep when he heard the rice pounding and thought it was a drum, then thought how empty it sounded like the sound of a tree hitting the stone, when the province knew the sound of rice pounding . Although he did not remember when he slept, he was still aware, congested, though his body was asleep, his hearing was still present, so even though his body was dissipated, his hearing was not lost.

     He taught: " - Because the beings from beginninglessness, relying on identity, chasing after thoughts but circulating, have never enlightened the pure nature often, do not follow the true nature, chase after being destroyed, because that is forever rotated in contamination ". It means that for a long time ( innocence ), all people and all beings of the species stick to the scene, and then run after the memorial to the figures of the scene and create karma, so they must be born of samsara. And so on and on and on and on in the pollution of the ceiling, without knowing the pure nature ( nature ) that does not give birth, does not always change.

     He continued to teach: " - If you give birth and kill, keep your true nature, then the light of Truthfulness, self, mind, mind, right away will immediately disappear; General vision is bare, discrimination is structure, both are far away, then his dharma label is transparent, how can not become Supreme Master? ”  That is, if not according to the fixed ceiling, far away the echoes of the image of the naked ceiling (the delusionary general ), immediately sticking to the ceiling, comparing it to the discrimination, keeping only the mind ( seeing, hearing...)  firmly fixed. At that time, the light of knowing often manifests itself, the knowing will cover all space and time past the present future  into supreme perception  .
