The foundation of Buddhism is the Four Noble Truths - including suffering (the reason for the existence of Buddhism); the source of suffering is due to Craving; the elimination of suffering, called Nirvana, Nibbana (the end of Buddhism) (22) and the Middle Path (leading to the end of suffering).
What is the supreme truth about suffering?
" Being miserable, old is suffering, illness is suffering, death is suffering, living near the person you don't like is suffering, living away from the person you love is suffering, not being what you wish to be miserable, and suffering because of the four great bodies warm " .
What is the supreme truth about the origin of suffering?
"It is craving, which leads us to the constant reincarnation of samsara, to follow with greed, at the birth of this place, the birth of the other; it is the desire to indulge in sensual pleasures, to immerse in the existent life, and to immerse yourself in nihilism. ”
What is the supreme truth about suffering?
"It is the remainder, ending completely the craving; renunciation, letting go, hiding, and liberating from craving . "
High truth, what is the path to the cessation of suffering?
" It is the Noble Eightfold Path, which consists of right understanding, righteous thinking, right speech, right action, righteousness, right concentration, mindfulness, and right concentration . "
Whether or not the Buddhas are born, these four Noble Truths still exist in the universe. Buddha only realized the truths that they hid in the abyss abyss of times.
In a scientific way, it is possible to call Dhamma the law of cause and effect. This law covers the entire teachings of the Buddha.
The first three truths present the philosophy of Buddhism, the fourth truth that expresses the ethics of Buddhism, which is built on that philosophy. All the Four Noble Truths depend on our own bodies. The Buddha taught: "In this long stride body, together with perception and thought, Tathagata declares the world, the origin of the world, the end of the world, and the path to the end. world". Here, the noun "world" refers to suffering.
Buddhism builds on the foundation of suffering. But it is not necessary to say that Buddha is pessimistic. Buddhism does not advocate completely pessimistic or optimistic; on the contrary, Buddhism clarifies the middle truth, which lies between those two attitudes. One can say that the Buddha is pessimistic if he only teaches the truth of suffering, but does not offer methods to help people end that suffering. The Buddha realized the universal character of suffering, and enumerated a prescription for the treatment of the comprehensive suffering of mankind. According to the Buddha, the ultimate happiness is Nirvana, which is the end of all suffering.
In the Encyclopaedia Britannnica, the author, when explaining the theory of qi, wrote: "Pessimism presents a desperate attitude towards life, a general and vague notion for that human life is filled with suffering and sin. The Buddha's original doctrine, in fact, is as optimistic as any Western optimism. Given that pessimistic Buddhism is intended to specifically apply it to the principles of Westerners, according to which happiness is impossible beyond self. True Buddhists wish with enthusiasm, find a lasting happiness. ”
Often the enjoyment of sexual pleasures is the secular and ultimate source of secularity. There is certainly a temporary happiness in the first beneficiary, then the passion and reminiscent of those fleeting material pleasures; but they are only false and temporary. According to Buddha, not passionate about craving is the most noble happiness.
The Buddha did not advise his disciples to constantly think of suffering, and turn to a miserable life. He taught them to always be happy and happy, because Hì (Piti) or "joy" is one of the qualities of Enlightenment.
The true happiness is found in your mind and not the concept of happiness is in wealth, children, fame and possession. If those assets are misused, created by rape and unrighteousness; spend sparingly, or watch with greed; they will become the source of all suffering and afflictions for the owner.
Instead of trying to rationalize suffering, Buddhism considers suffering as a matter of course, and finds its cause to eradicate it. Suffering exists where there is greed. It can only be eliminated by practicing the Noble Eightfold Path, and attaining the supreme happiness of Nirvana.
These four truths can be corroborated by experience. Therefore, the Buddha's teaching is not based on fear of something unknown; but it is built on the basis of events that we can examine and witness by experience. Therefore, Buddhism is pure and experimental.
Such a pure and experimental system, cannot contain esoteric or mystical teachings. Therefore, Buddhism does not accept blind faith. Where there is no blind trust, there cannot be coercion, persecution or fanaticism. When referring to the value of Buddhism, it can be said that passing (over) 2,500 years of peaceful development, no drop of blood has flowed in the name of the Buddha; no powerful king had swung his sword of authority to spread Buddhism; and there has not been any conversion done by force, or by any other compulsive method. However, the Buddha was the first and greatest peace missionary in the world.
Aldous Huxley (23) wrote: " In the major religions of the world, only Buddhism has evangelized without persecution, censorship or investigation . "
Lord Russell (24) notes: " In the great religions of history, I like Buddhism, especially in its original form, because it has very little persecution . "
In the name of Buddhism, no place of worship has been tinged with the blood of Hypatia (25) and neither a philosopher like Bruno (26) has been burned alive.
Buddhism focuses more on intellectuals than emotions. Buddhism focuses on the personality of believers rather than quantity.
The other day, Siha (27), a follower of Nigantha Nataputta (28) approached the Buddha and was happy to hear the teachings of the Buddha. He expressed his will to become his disciple. But the Buddha advised him as follows: - "This layman, in fact, you should think carefully. A person who is as outstanding as him is better, he should think carefully before acting. "
The head of Siha, when he heard these unexpected teachings of the Buddha, was very happy, and said: "The Buddha, if you ask to be a disciple of another patriarch, your followers will the palanquin goes all over the street and declares that this rich man has renounced his previous religion, to follow their religion. But the White World, He advised me to think again.Hearing this teaching, you are more and more revered. For the second time, transparent glass of Tathagata, I would like to take refuge in Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.
Buddhism imbued with the spirit of freedom of inquiry and great tolerance. It is the teaching of open mind and sympathetic soul; a doctrine that illuminates and warms the whole universe with both wisdom and compassion; and fighting his aura all over all sentient beings struggling in the sea of samsara.
The Buddha was very enlightened, he never used authority to enact the prohibitions for his disciples. Instead of using the wrong command, the Buddha taught: - " You should do this, you should not do that ". He did not command but only advised. This compassion of Buddha encompasses all men and women and all beings.
The Buddha was the first to try to abolish slavery, and strongly opposed the decadent class system, which was deeply rooted in Indian society. The Buddha taught that it was not because of growth, people became inferior or noble, but because of their actions. According to Buddhism, class or race is not a prerequisite for whether a person can become a Buddhist or receive and the Church. The fishermen, the scavenger, the prostitute, along with the Brahmin soldiers and Taoists (Brahmins) are free to accept the Church; the equality enjoys all privileges, status and hierarchy.
For example, Mr. Upali - Superior Lady Ly (29) is a barber, selected, among many other saints, as an elder, reciting the laws of the world (Vinaya) of Buddha. Mr. Sunita (30), a timid road sweeper, who witnessed the Arhat, was accepted by the Buddha into the Congregation. Mr. Angulimala (31), the robber brutally took the line to follow the Buddha. The cruel Alavaka (32), took refuge in the Buddha and became a Saint. The girl Ambapali (33) was admitted to the Church, and attained Arhat. In such cases, many can be found in the Tripitaka; proving that the door of Buddhism is open to everyone, regardless of class, color or position.
The Buddha also raised the status of women despised, and not only helped them move forward to play an important role in society, but he established the first Church for the ordained women with full of precepts.
Buddha did not despise women, but only noted their weak nature. He recognized the kindness in both men and women, and the Buddha put them in the position of each gender in His teachings. Male or female is not an obstacle to attaining the Eucharist.
Pali word "Matugama" is sometimes used to refer to women, meaning mother, or society of mothers.
As a mother, the woman took an honorary position in Buddhism. Even the wife is considered the husband's "best friend".
What a hasty and biased criticism, when people complain of unfriendly Buddhism to women. Although first, for proper reasons, the Buddha refused to accept women into the Church (renunciation); But later, he agreed upon the request of her mother, Pajapati Gotami (34), and founded the Bhikkhuni (Bhikkhuni) Church. (Sariputta) and Mien Lien (Moggallana) are two great disciples of the monks' Church, the Buddha nominated two Arhats Khema (35) and Uppalavanna (36) to make them the Bhikshuni Church. Many other female disciples also received the Buddha's name in his eulogy and fervor.
One day, the Buddha advised the king of the country, Kieu Tat La - Kosala (37) who felt unhappy to hear that the queen had just given birth to the princess:
" My grandfather, Vuong Vuong, is even better than giving birth to a grandson . "
Many women, forgotten, have excelled in every aspect, and attained liberation, by practicing the Dharma and joining the Church (Bhikshuni). In this new Church, later, it proved to bring great happiness to many women, queens, princesses, and poets in the race; the widows, the lonely mothers, the miserable women, until the poor girl class - all, regardless of rank or position, meet together, enjoy the source of happiness and peace; as well as being able to absorb free air, which was not found in those who live in confinement and jade.
The Buddha himself also forbade the killing of animals, and advised disciples to spread the word (Metta) to all beings - even to the smallest creatures (insects) crawling under their feet. No one has any right or reason to kill someone else's life, because life is precious to everyone.
A true Buddhist person should practice loving-kindness for all beings, and identify himself with all, regardless of class, race or gender (male and female).
It is the Buddhist word that literally breaks down all barriers between people and people. There is no reason for me to live away from others, just because they are not of the same faith or different countries. On the inscription (Edict) full of great tolerance, laying the foundation in the Culla-Vyuha and Maha-Vyuha sutras, King Ashoka - Asoka (38) said: "Only harmony is the best; So, I think everyone is so happy to listen to the teachings of others. "
Buddhism is not limited to any particular nation or nation. But Buddhism is the whole (everyone). Buddhism is not a nationalist, or in other words, a form of a class system, established on a wider basis. Buddhism, if allowed to do so, is a nationalist super.
For Buddhists, there are no relatives and relatives, no enemies or strangers, no one betraying or being able to contact them; Because compassion embraces understanding, it has been built on brotherhood among all beings. True Buddhists are a citizen of the world. They see the whole world as their homeland, and all are their relatives.
So, only Buddhism has all the virtues of tolerance, non-aggression, purity, experiment, effect and greatness. Buddhism is one of the most noble influences in all unifying influences, and is a unique ability that can raise the world (people).
These are some of the characteristics of Buddhism, and in the basic teachings of Buddhism, we can say that - the theory of karma (Kamma) or the law of causality, the doctrine of reincarnation, selflessness (Anatta ) and Nirvana (Nibbana).
