IS A ETHICS SYSTEM? 4.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.
The doctrine of the Buddha encompasses the principle of excellent morality, unrivaled perfection and unselfishness. It presents a way of life for monastics and lay people (at home). However, Buddhism is superior to the usual moral statements. Morality (gender) is just a preliminary stage towards the Pure Path, and a means to the goal, but not the goal itself. Although gender is necessary, it is not enough to help people achieve liberation. Which needs more Wisdom (Panna). The foundation of Buddhism is gender, and wisdom is the highest peak.
In order to sustain the precepts of the precepts, Buddhists not only pay attention to themselves, but also pay attention to all others - including animals. Gender law in Buddhism, not based on doubtful revelation doctrines, is not the intellectual invention of a particular mind, but rather the rational and practical rules built upon the Real proof and personal experience.
Thought should know that any foreign supernatural power cannot participate in creating the personality of a Buddhist. In Buddhism, there is no trust or reward. Suffering or happiness is the inevitable result of one's own action. The Buddhist mind does not accept the problem that God must suffer (for humans) about their happiness or suffering. It is not the act of wanting to be rewarded or afraid of punishment that motivates Buddhists to do good deeds or avoid evil. Buddhists know well about future results, so they avoid creating evil, because it causes delay in liberation and good work because it helps in reaching Enlightenment (Bodhi). There are also people who do good, because they know it is good, and avoid doing evil because it is a bad thing.
In order to understand this particular supreme morality, the Buddha advised his pure disciples to carefully read the scriptures such as Dhammapada, and Goodness (Sigalovada), Mangala, Karaniya, Parabhava, Vasala, and Dhammikka etc ...
Those are moral teachings that go beyond other moral systems, but keep precepts as the first step, not the goal of Buddhism.
In this sense, Buddhism is not a philosophy, but in the other sense, Buddhism is the philosophy of philosophy. In a way, Buddhism is not a religion; in other words, Buddhism is a religion of religions.
Buddhism is not the metaphysical path, nor the direction of the rite.
Buddhism is not skeptical, nor arbitrary.
Buddhism does not teach austerity, nor does it advocate a passion for passion.
Buddhism is not pessimistic, nor optimistic.
Buddhism does not advocate eternal life, nor is nihilism.
Buddhism does not say that this world or another world is absolute.
Buddhism is the only Enlightened Path.
The Pali grammar called Buddhism is Dhammma (Dharma), which means to preserve (maintain). There is no English noun that can translate exactly the meaning of this Pali.
Dharma is what is true. It is the Doctrine of Reality. Dharma is the means to deliver all suffering, and Dhamma itself is the Liberation. Whether Buddha was born or not, Dharma still exists. Dharma is obscured by the ignorant eyes of human beings, until a Buddha, the Enlightened One is born, enlightenment and compassion spread the Dharma to the world.
This Dharma is not something out there, but it is closely linked to us. Therefore, the Buddha taught: "Stay in your place like an island, like Nuong Tua. Take refuge in Dharma (Dhamma) like an island, like the place of Nuong Tua. Don't look for refuge outside ”(Kinh Nibbana).
