The Buddhist theory of Samsara should be distinguished from rebirth theory to refer to the transformation of souls or the rebirth of a naked body. Buddhism denies the existence of an immortal or eternal soul created by God or emanating from a Mahayana.
If the soul that one assumes as human essence is eternal then the soul cannot generate or destroy. In addition, one cannot explain why "From the beginning, this soul is different from the other soul".
In order to prove the eternal blessing in eternal heaven and the endless suffering under a permanent hell, it is absolutely imperative to have an immortal soul. If not, what will be punished in hell or rewarded in heaven?
Bertrand Russell writes: "We must say that the old distinction between the soul and the body has completely dissipated because matter has lost the rigidity of the solid body but the mind also loses its mental nature. Psychology is beginning to become a science. In the situation of psychology, the belief in something immortal has not been sustained by science. ”
The Buddhist man agreed with Russell when he said: "There is clearly a reason to believe that the 'I' today and the 'I' yesterday are one and to take a clearer example, if the same When I saw a person and heard him speak, it was obvious that the 'I' heard and the 'I' saw was one '.
Until recent years scientists have believed in the indivisible and indestructible character of atoms. “For all reason, physicists have divided the atom into small parts. Along with legitimate reasons, psychologists discover that the mind is not a homogeneous object of something that is long-lived, but that some elements are combined through certain intimate relationships. So, the problem of eternal immortality becomes the question whether these associations still exist between the elements of the living body and the dead body. ”
Just like CEM Joad wrote in The Meaning of Life: "The Meaning of Life": "Material has disintegrated under our eyes." It is no longer a solid, unstable body, no longer regulated by coercive laws; and more importantly, people no longer know what it is. ”
The so-called atoms seem to be "dispersed, can be destroyed". The electrons and yangs included in an atom "can meet and destroy each other while, the stability of the electron and the penis, like the stability of a wave, has no strong limitations. and in the process of continuous change, both change forms and positions.
Bishop Berkley said that what is called atom is a metaphysical fantasy and advocates a spiritual entity called soul.
For example, Hume (49) studied and found that consciousness has nothing but mental states of transformation and concludes that "What I often do" is not real.
And Hume writes: "There are some philosophers who think that in every conviction, we are aware of the so-called Me, and we feel that the I is real, often; and we are sure ..., cannot be changed and divided. As for me, when I come into close contact with what I call 'I', I always ask for some special feelings like hot or cold, light or darkness, love to hate, sad or happy. I have never caught the 'I' ... and can never find anything but the feeling ... as well as not being able to perceive anything else needed to make me a complete entity does not exist".
Bergson (50) said: "All consciousness exists only during the life. A psychological state, if not changed, is no longer a state .. It is a constant transformation; when the transformation stops, the state of consciousness stops, the state of mind is transformation. ”
Referring to the problem of souls, Professor James writes: "Until now, soul theory is completely useless when using it to explain facts that can really prove the experience of consciousness. So far, no one can be forced to accept the theory for specific scientific reasons. ”
In the conclusion of the favorite chapter about the soul, he wrote: "And in this work, the temporary solution that we have reached must be a conclusion: It is thought that the person is thoughtful."
Watson (51), the renowned psychologist wrote: - "No one has ever touched a soul or seen souls in a test tube, or in any other way, to communicate with the soul as it once did. colliding with other things in everyday life. However, doubting the existence of the soul is seen as a heretic; and in the old days it could lead to people falling their heads. Even today, people with important status do not dare to raise that issue. ”
Over 2500 years ago, the Buddha mentioned these problems. According to Buddhism, consciousness is nothing more than a complex synthesis of constantly changing mind states. Each convolution consists of three stages - arising or starting, stilling or developing, and ending or destroying. As soon as a short thought has passed through the period of cessation, immediately the period of the birth of the next thought comes up again. In the ever-changing process of life, each convolution is thoughtful when destroying, transferring all the energy and all the sensations received for the next thought. Each new conviction includes the potential of previous thoughts along with a few other things. So, there is the continuing rotation of the mind as a stream flows continuously. The following thoughtlessness is not quite the same as the previous ideologies - because the composition has been renewed - which is not entirely different, since both are in the same lineage of Karma. There are no similar beings but there is uniformity in the process of life (of beings).
In every moment (of life) there is birth and death. The arising of a conception of this thought means that there is another thought that has been destroyed and vice versa. In the timeline of life, there is the only rebirth without a soul.
Thought should not understand that our consciousness is cut into small pieces and connected together like train cars or a chain. But on the contrary, "it flows continuously like a living stream, receiving from the tributaries of the senses to enrich its abundance and forever provide the world outside the new ideas that it absorb in life ”(52). The river of consciousness arises from its source and ends at its mouth. Thinking exists so quickly that no standard can measure estimates. However, the exegetes said that the duration of an ideology may be shorter than a time element of a lightning.
Here, we see the continuum in the long chain of consciousness states, not the overlap of such states as some people think. There was no passing thought but also came back; nor do the following ideologies imitate the previous thought. But our people are obscured by the illusion, mistakenly assuming a continuous continuum as something eternal, and furthering that there is an eternal soul, a Self (a), a child. The hypothetical person both acts and contains a group of all actions into this ever-changing mind.
“The so-called human being is like a flash created by the successive rays of light that are so fast that our naked eyes cannot see them separately; and the delusional person is also hard to recognize the continuity of those discrete rays. ” Like wheels rolling a point on the road surface, we humans only live in each conviction. We always live in the present, and now we must flow into the past. How our future will be determined by our current thoughts.
One might ask, if there is no soul, what is reborn? In fact, there is no such thing as rebirth. When life ends, Karma Power becomes itself in a new form. As Venerable Silacara wrote: "Although it is not visible where the Force of Power passes, but the conditions that adapt to its apparent expression are still present. Karma appears even though the mosquito or the small worm still makes it clear as to the existence of the brilliant light of an Angel or the Prophet. When the mode of karma stops, the karmic force only transitions, and when the conditions are favorable, karma will find itself again in another mind or body.
Birth is the arising of the most phenomena of physical moments. Death is only a temporary cessation of the phenomenon (physical mind).
As well as the arising of a physical state formed by the previous state as the cause; and the emergence of the phenomenon of physical mind has been caused by previous causes to enable it to arise. So the process of a life can take place without an entity that often moves from one thought to another; then a series of life processes can also take place without an immortal soul moving from one life to another.
Buddhism absolutely does not deny the existence of an ego in its empirical sense. Buddhism in the ultimate definition, to prove that there is no real (unchanging) ego. The term Buddhist philosophy calls an individual Santana - a living stream or continuity. It includes both mental and physical factors. The karma of each individual combines those elements together. This constant stream of life or the continuity of this physical phenomenon has been created by Karma, not only limited to the present life, but that Power has originated in pastless lives, and it will continue continuous development in the future - It is this line of life (Karma) that is what other religions call the eternal "I" or the immortal "soul".
