[XIX - DISCUSSION ON FORCE] .19 « Balakathā »
1. [168] Hey monks, there are five forces, five forces? Credits, tons of force, mindfulness, concentration, wisdom. This is five forces. ' (S v 249; A iii 12).
2. Moreover, there are sixty-eight forces.
« Beyond »  credit, force, mind power, concentration, wisdom [as said], there are also:
Shame force, force to know errors, thinking forces, meditation power , force of no error, support force, 2 *  choice force, [1]  preparation force, persuasive force, 3 *  force , determination.
Quiet force, true force of nature;
Ten forces of the learned level, ten forces of the learned level;
The ten forces of the afflicted person have been extinguished;
Ten divine powers (supernatural powers);
Ten forces of Tathagata.
 bhāvanā-bala : the force of meditation, the force of cultivating the seven elements that constitute enlightenment, (Read A ii 10).

3.   What is credit ? Unshakable because of disbelief, that is credit. Credibility in the sense of consolidating states of coexistence. Credibility in the sense of ending gonorrhea. Credibility in the sense of purification is initially well understood. Credibility in the sense of determination. Credibility in the sense of cleansing the mind. Credibility in the sense of superiority. Credibility in a deeper sense.Credibility in the sense of enlightenment is also true. Credibility in the sense of staying in the cessation. [2]  This is credit.
4.   What is the force ? Unshakable because of laziness, like that is tons of force. The force in the sense of strengthening the states of coexistence ... [and so on. 3] ... Attack force in the sense of staying in the cessation. This is the force. [169]
5.  What is  mindfulness ? Unshakable because of distraction, like that is mindfulness. Mindfulness in the sense of strengthening the states of union ... Mindfulness in the sense of staying in the cessation.This is mindfulness.
6.   What is force ? Unshakable because of fluctuations, like that is concentration. ... Determination of force in the sense of staying in the cessation. This is concentration.
7.   What is force ? Unshakable because of ignorance, so is wisdom power ... Wisdom in the sense of staying in the cessation. This is wisdom.
8.   What is shameful force  ? Thanks to the cup, it has a conscience that is hesitant about craving for desire, thus shame. Thanks to not anger ... [and so with the remaining obstacles of seven obstacles and states against those obstacles, the four jhanas, the four realms of the infinite realm, the eighteen realizations of nature main, and four pathways to come ... ... Thanks to the path of arahant, this is a conscience with all gonorrhea, so shame. <compared to Luan XXX and 'C'>
9. What is  the  fear of mistake  ? By renunciation, it is a shame of craving for desire, thus the force of fear and error. Thanks to not anger ... Thanks to the path of arahant, this is a shame for all gonorrhea, so that is the force of fear.
10.  What is the thinking  force  ? By renunciation, it reflects on the craving for desire, thus thinking.Thanks to not anger ... [170] Thanks to the path of arahant, he thinks about all gonorrhea, thus thinking power.
11.  The force  of meditation  is what? Those who renounce their desire for craving, they practice to renounce, such as meditation. Those who renounce anger ... Those who renounce all gonorrhea, who practice the path of arahant, are the force of meditation. This is the force of meditation.
12. What is the  force  of no error  ? Because desire for craving has been abandoned, no reprimand is allowed in the cup, so is the force of no error. Because anger has been abandoned ... Because all gonorrhea has been abandoned, irresponsible in the path of arahant, it is the force of no error. This is the force of no error.
13.  What is the  support  force ? He who renounces the desire for craving, he supports the mind with the cup, is thus the support force. Those who renounce anger ... Those who renounce all gonorrhea, they support the mind with the path of arahant, thus the force of support. This is the support force.[171]
14. What is  the  chosen  force ? Because the desire for craving has been abandoned, he chooses to export, thus the choice force. Because no anger has been abandoned ... Because all gonorrhea has been abandoned, he chooses the path of arahant, thus the force of choice. This is the force of choice. [3]
15. What is  preparation force  ? Someone who renounces desire for craving, he prepares the  mind by making a cup, thus the preparation force. Whoever renounces anger ... He who renounces all gonorrhea, he prepares the mind with the path of arahant, thus the preparation force. This is the preparation force.
16.   What is persuasive force *? Someone who renounces desire for sex, he persuades the  mind by renunciation, thus convincing force. Those who renounce anger ... Those who renounce all gonorrhea, who persuade them with the path of arahant, thus persuasive force. This is the force of persuasion.
*  here nijjhatti translation   is  notification , but in  A Pali-English Grossary of Buddhist Technical Terms , page 57,  Ñāṇamoli  has changed into  persuation .
17.   What is the main force ? Someone who renounces his desire for craving, he acts as a deliberate person by exporting the glass, thus the main force. Those who renounce anger ... Those who renounce all gonorrhea, who behave with the path of arahant, thus the main force. This is the main force.
18.  What is the determination force  ? He who renounces his desire for craving, he resolves to remain steadfast by renunciation, thus being determined. Whoever renounces anger ... He who renounces all gonorrhea, he resolves to keep his mind with the path of arahant, thus being determined. This is the force of determination. [172]
19.   What is calm force ? Not distracting as being single-minded through the cup is stillness. Not distracting as being single-minded through non-anger is stillness ... [and so with all the ideas listed in Luan I d. 442 to come ... ... No distraction as one-mindedness through exhalation of letting go is stillness.
What is the quiet force?
 What is calm force ? Not distracting is single-mindedly because of the glass of silence ... [repeating Argument I đ. 452] ... Without distracting is one-mindedness, thanks to exhalation, letting go is a quiet force.
20. What is the quiet force? Thanks to meditation, it is not shaken by obstacles, so is the calming force ... [repeating Argument I e. 453] ... By witnessing realms without awareness is not without awareness, it is not shaken by realizing that there is nothing, like that is stillness.
It is unshakable, cannot be moved and cannot be subject to oscillation, gonorrhea and aggregation accompanied by vibrations that change direction, so silence is force.
This is the still force.
21.   What is the true force of nature ? The impermanence is the real force of nature, ... [repeating Argument I d. 454] ... to let go in old age and die is the true force of nature.
22. Quan tanh is the force in any sense? Unshakable because of the awareness of longevity thanks to impermanence, so is the shop which is really force ... [repeating Argument I đ. 454] ... Unshakable because clinging to let go of the bar, so that the true nature is force.
It is unshakable, unmovable, and cannot be subject to fluctuations, gonorrhea, and assemblies associated with ignorance that cause a change of direction, so it is really force.
This is the true force of nature.
23. What are the  ten forces of the learned level and the ten forces of the learned level  ? He studied (sikkhati ) right understanding, thus the force of the righteous beings ( sekha ); because he was educated ( sikkhitattā ) in that respect is the force of the learned level ( asekha ). He learns the right mindset, so is the force of the learned; because he is able to study in that aspect is the force of the level he has completed. He studies right speech ... He studies righteousness ... He studies righteousness ... He studies righteous effort ... He studies mindfulness ... He studies Chief Justice ... He studied right mind ... He studied righteous liberation, so is the force of organic school; because he is able to study in that aspect is the force of the level he has completed.
These are the ten forces of the learned level and the ten forces of the learned level.
24. What are the  ten forces of the person who has afflictions  ?
Here the bhikkhu who has afflictions has been clearly seen as true to the true understanding that all acts create results are impermanent. Because of that understanding, it is the force of the person who has defilements that has been severed, as a result of that force, the bhikkhu whose afflictions have been severed has declared that 'my defilements have been severed'.
25. Again, when the bhikkhu has afflictions, the end has clearly seen the truth to the true understanding that sensory pleasures like embers. Because I understand that, ... [completed as in e. 24].
26. Again, when the bhikkhu has afflictions that have been severed, his mind tends to, tends to return, reclining to an isolated way of life, creating a quarantine effort, like to export, has Completely annihilate states that lead to defilements. Because of that, ... [174].
27. Again, when the Bhikkhu stilts has afflictions, he has practiced the four foundations of contemplation, cultivating them smoothly. For doing so, ...
28. Again, when the Bhikkhu stilts have afflictions have been taken away, he has practiced the four main diligently, cultivating them smoothly. For doing so, ...
29. Again, when the Bhikkhu stilts has afflictions, he has practiced the four foundations of divine powers (the path to power), cultivating them smoothly. For doing so, ...
30. Again, when the Bhikkhu stilts have afflictions have been finished, he has practiced the year to influence, practice them smoothly. For doing so, ...
31. Again, when the Bhikkhu stilts have afflictions have been finished, he has practiced five forces, practicing them smoothly. For doing so, ...
32. Again, when the Bhikkhu stilts have afflictions have been severed, he has practiced seven elements to create enlightenment, practicing them smoothly. For doing so, ...
33. Again, when the Bhikkhu stilts have afflictions have been severed, he has practiced to direct the eight branches, practicing them smoothly. For doing so, ...
These are the ten forces of those who have afflictions that have been eradicated.
34. What are the  ten divine powers (supernatural powers)  ?
Divine powers are determination, divine powers are transformation, divine powers are [body] created by mind, divine powers through the involvement of mind, divine powers through the involvement of samadhi, divine powers of the saints, the spirit of birth from the fruits of work, divine powers for merit, divine powers through clarification and divine powers in the sense of accomplishment for doing the right thing on time (read Comment XXII dd. 4  ff .).
These are ten divine powers.
35. What are the  ten forces of Tathagata  ?
Here Tathagata understands as true as  possible * is possible,  can  not be impossible. Because he knows that, this is the force of Tathagata, as a result of that force, Tathagata declared himself a leader, roaring lions in the congregation, turning the wheel of  « Dharma »  supreme.

37. Again, Tathagata understands exactly like where all the paths will lead. Because He understands that way, this is ...
38. Again, Tathagata realizes that the world has many different principles. Because He understands that way, this is ...
39. Again, Tathagata understands really like the different determination of all beings. Because He understands that way, this is ...
40. Again, Tathagata correctly understands the tendency of influences in other living beings, among others. Because He understands that way, this is ...
41. Again, Tathagata understands as true gonorrhea, purity, rising, in jhanas, liberation, concentration, and attainment. Because He understands that way, this is ...
42. Again, Tathagata remembers many of his past lives, that is: one life, ... [and so on as in Luan I d.542] ... like that with all aspects and characteristics, He remembered many of his past lives. Because He remembers that, this is ...
43. Again, Tathagata with the divine eye which is purified and transcends mankind, clearly sees sentient beings die and reappear, ... [and so as in Luan I d. 548] ... understand that sentient beings are circulating correctly with their karma. [176] Because you see that, this is ...
44. Again, due to the test of self-knowledge, Tathagata is here and now enters and dwells in the mind of liberation and the wisdom of liberation does not have defilements because defilements are end.Because He did that, this is ...
These are the ten forces of Tathagata.

In what sense?

What is the meditation force?
What is the force of no error?

In what sense is the preparation force?
In what sense is persuasive force?

What is the real force in the sense?
In what sense is the ten forces of the learned level?
In what sense did the ten forces of the level finish?
What are the ten forces of the afflicted person end up in?
In what sense are ten divine powers (supernatural powers)?
Ten forces of Tathagata in what sense?
Credibility in the sense of unshakable because of not believing.
Xun force in the unshakable sense of laziness.
The power of mindfulness does not move because of distraction.
Determining force in a sense does not move because of fluctuations.
Wisdom in the sense of unshakable because of ignorance.
Conscience is hesitant because of the evil and unwholesome states, so it is a shameful force.
Embarrassed by the evil, unwholesome states, so it is the force of fear of error. 
Thinking about all intellectual gonorrhea, that is the thinking force.
The states created in which there is a unique effect (taste), so it is a meditation force.
There is nothing that can be reprimanded, so the force of no error.
By supporting the mind, that is the support force.
He chooses that, so is the choice.
He prepared the mind, thus the preparation force.
He persuaded the mind with that, thus the force of persuasion.
He behaves deliberate with that, thus the main force.
He holds his mind with that, thus being determined.
Because the mind is united, so is the still force.
He contemplates the states arising within, thus being the true force of nature.
He studies in it, so is the force of the learned.
Because after learning inside, it is the force of the level who has finished studying.
By the end of the affliction, such is the force of the afflicted person to be finished.
That is the supernatural power of his position, thus the divine power.
The power of Tathagata in the sense of not being measured.
