1. [86] Hey monks, this virtuous life is the quintessential part to drink when there is a Master. (S ii 29)



2. There are three kinds of essences to drink when there is a Master: the essence of preaching, the essence of the person receiving and the essence of virtue.

3. What is the  essence of preaching *  ?

As a statement, preaching, proclaiming, establishing, opening, explaining and interpreting the four noble truths; statements, preaching, proclaiming, establishing, opening, explaining, interpreting the four foundations of mindfulness; ... four main effort, ... the four foundations of divine powers, ... the year of influence, ... the five forces, ... the seven elements that constitute enlightenment; eight saints.This is the essence of preaching.

4. What is the  essence of the receiver  *  ?

The monks, monks, male lay people, female lay people, devas, human beings, and anyone else understands [about the truth]. This is the essence of the receiver.

5. What is the  essence of Pham Hanh's life  ?

This is the eight saints, that is: right understanding, righteous thinking, right speech, righteous action, righteousness, right effort, mindfulness and concentration. This is the essence of Pham Hanh's life.

Unshakable because not believing is the essence of credit, not believing scum; After decanting the scum of the unbelieving, he drank the essence of unshakability because he did not believe it, thus the essence of drinking. Unshakability because of laziness is the essence of force, laziness is scum ... Unshakable because distraction is the essence of mindfulness, distraction is scum ... Unshakableness of knives dynamic is the quintessence of concentration, oscillation is scum ... Unshakableness because of ignorance is the essence of intellectual power, ignorance is scum, after decanting the scum of ignorance, he drinks refined flowers of unshakableness because of ignorance in wisdom, so is the essence of drinking.

Setting is the essence of the element that makes enlightenment of mindfulness, distraction is scum;After decanting the scum of distraction, he drank the essence of setting in the element of enlightenment of mind, thus the essence of drinking. Understanding the truth is the quintessence of the element of enlightenment of seeking truth, ignorance is scum; ... Effort is the essence of the element that makes enlightenment of tons, laziness is scum. .. Chan Hoa is the quintessence of the elements that make up the enlightenment of the haze, the fever of gonorrhea *  is the scum ... 7. There is a quintessence, a recipe for drinking, a scum.

Setting is the essence of the element that makes enlightenment of mindfulness, distraction is scum; ... [and so with seven elements that constitute enlightenment and their opposing elements to ...] Thinking is the essence of the element that makes enlightenment of calm, not thinking of dregs residue, any essence (flavor) of meaning in it, any essence of the idea in it, any essence of the knife in which to drink.

Seeing clearly is the essence of right view, misconception is scum; ... [and so with the eight divine branches until] ... [90] No distraction is the essence of right concentration, the wrong mind is the scum, any essence (flavor) of meaning in it, any essence of the idea in it, any essence of the knife in which to drink.

8. Seeing is the essence of right view, directing the mind to be the quintessence of righteous thinking, keeping the words as the essence of right speech, the source of arising is the essence of righteous action, making clean the essence of righteousness, effort is the essence of diligence, establishing the essence of mindfulness, not distraction is the essence of right concentration.

Setting up is the quintessence of the element that makes enlightenment of mindfulness, understanding the essence of the element that makes enlightenment of seeking truth; the essence of the element that constitutes the enlightenment of bliss, tranquility is the essence of the element that makes enlightenment of stillness, distraction is the quintessence of the element that makes enlightenment of samadhi, thinking is the essence of the element that constitutes enlightenment of calmness.

Unshakability because of not believing is the essence of credit, unshakability because laziness is the essence of force, unshakability because distraction is the essence of mindfulness, unshakable because oscillation is the essence of concentration, unshakability because ignorance is the essence of intellectual power.

Both decisions are the essence of the capacity to influence the credit; effort is the quintessence of the capacity to influence the attack; setting is the quintessence of the capacity to influence the mind, not distracting is the essence of the capacity to influence the mind, clearly seeing the essence of the capacity to influence wisdom.

In the sense of victory, the influencing powers are elite; according to unshakability, forces are elite; in the sense of escape, the elements that make up enlightenment are elites; in the cause sense, the path is the essence; in the established sense, the foundations of mindfulness are the essence, in the sense of effort, the chiefs are diligent; in the sense of success, the foundation of achievement is the essence;according to the true meaning as (reality), the Truths are the essence. [2]

In the sense of non-distraction, tranquility is the essence, in the sense of visualization, the true nature is the essence. In the sense of effect (flavor), stillness and true nature are the essence. In the sense of not exceeding each other, the double wave is the essence.

In the sense of ending, purifying the world is the essence, in the sense of not scattered, purifying the mind is the essence; in the clear sense, purifying the point of view is elite; [91] in the sense of liberation, liberation is the essence; in the sense of understanding, the wise mind is the essence; in the sense of elimination, the knife is the essence; in the sense of severing, the mind of destruction is the essence.

In the sense of taking root as the foundation, the desire is the essence; in the sense of source arises, attention is considered to be the essence; in a coordinated sense, contact is the essence; In the sense of meeting place, experience is the essence; in the first sense, concentration is the essence; in the sense of victory, mindfulness is the essence; in the highest sense, wisdom is the essence; in the core sense, the knife is the essence; in the sense of cessation, nibbana comes from no longer birth and death is the essence.
