Majjhima Nikaya
63. Mula Lunkyà
(Cula Mlunkyà sutta)
This is how I hear.
At one time, the Blessed One stayed in Savatthi, Jetavana, at the Anathapindika monastery.
Then, the monk Malunkyaputta, while staying alone, begins the following reflection: There are some problems, the Blessed One does not answer, put aside, dismissed: "The world is permanent, the world is impermanent, the world is endowed, the world is boundless, the world is boundless, this life and the body is one, this life and this body is different, Tathagata exists after death, Tathagata does not exist after When death, Tathagata exists and does not exist after death. Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death. The Blessed One does not reply to these problems. Because the Blessed One does not answer us these questions, we are not satisfied, not satisfied. Let us go to the Blessed One, and we will ask this meaning. If the Buddha responds to me: "The world is permanent, the world is impermanent, the world is endowed, the world is boundless, this life and the body is one, this life and the body is different; Tathagata exists after death, Tathagata does not exist after death; The Tathagata exists and does not exist after death, or the Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death, the time will be lived under the Buddha (the instructions of the Buddha). Sun does not reply to us: "The world is permanent, the world is impermanent ... (as above) ... Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death," we will drop out law and continuity.
Then, in the afternoon, Malunkyaputta, from the Meditation, stood up, went to the Blessed One; After arriving, pay homage and then sit down one side. After sitting down on one side, Phra Malunkyaputta Buddha:
- In this, the Blessed One, while staying in residence, I arise the following thoughts: There are some problems, the Blessed One does not reply, put aside one side: "The world is often , the world is impermanent ... (as above) ... Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death. The Blessed One does not reply to these problems. Because the Blessed One does not answer us these questions, we are not satisfied, not satisfied. Let us go to the Blessed One and ask this meaning. If the world responds to me: "The world is permanent, the world is impermanent ... (as above) ... Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death," we will live The virtue under (the instructions of the Buddha). If the Blessed One does not reply to me: "The world is permanent, the world is impermanent ... (as above) ...
If the Buddha knew: "The world is permanent," the Buddha said to him, "The world is permanent." If the Buddha knew: "The world is impermanent." The Buddha said to the child: "The world is impermanent." If the Blessed One does not know: "The world is permanent" or "The world is impermanent", do not know, do not see, straightforward answer: "I do not know, I do not see".
If the Buddha knew: "The world is righteous," the Buddha said to him, "The world is righteous." If the Buddha knew: "The world is boundless," the Blessed One replied to the child, "The world is boundless." If the Blessed One does not know: "The world is endowed" or "The world is boundless", the time does not know, do not see, straightforward answer: "I do not know, I do not see".
If the Buddha knows that this life and the body are one, the Blessed One must reply to him: "This life and this body is one." If the Buddha knew: "This life and this body is different," the Buddha said to him: "This life and the body is different." If the Blessed One does not know: "This life and this body is one" or "This life and the body is another," in the unknown, unseen, straightforward answer: "I do not know, I do not see" .
If the Buddha knows that "Tathagata exists after death," the Buddha said to the child: "Tathagata exists after death." If the Buddha knows that "Tathagata does not exist after death," the Buddha said to the child: "Tathagata does not exist after death." If the Buddha does not know: "Tathagata exists after death", or "Tathagata does not exist after death", the time does not know, do not see, straightforward answer: "I do not know, I do not see".
If the Buddha knows that the Tathagata exists and does not exist after death, the Blessed One must reply to the child: "The Tathagata exists and does not exist after death." If the Buddha knows that "Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death," the Blessed One replied to the child: "Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death." If the Buddha does not know: "Tathagata exists and does not exist after death," or "Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death," the time does not know, do not see, "I do not know, I do not see".
- This Malunkyaputta, I have said to you: Malunkyaputta, come and live my happiness, I will answer him: "The world is permanent" or "The world is impermanent ... (as on ) ... Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death "?
- No, White World.
- Or do you say to me as follows: White Lord, I will live a happy life according to the Sun, if the Buddha will answer to the child: "The world is permanent" or "The world is impermanent ... (as above) ... Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death "?
- No, White World.
- So this, Malunkyaputta, I do not say to him: Malunkyaputta, come and live Brahma follow me and I will answer him: "The world is permanent" or "The world is impermanent ... (as above) ... Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death, "and He also did not say to me: Well, I will live the Blessed Happiness, if the Blessed One will answer For the child: "The world is permanent" or "The world is impermanent ... (as above) ... Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death." This is the time, the fool, Who are you, and what do you deny?
Malunkyaputta, if anyone says the following: I will live the Blessed One when the Blessed One will answer me: "The world is permanent" or "The world is impermanent ... (as above). Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death, "this time Malunkyaputta, he will die and still not answer Tathagata. Malunkyaputta, like a man with arrows, shot very poisoned arrows. Her relatives and blood relatives invite a medical doctor to take care of her. But he said, "I will not draw this arrow when I do not know who shot me in the royal line, or the brahmin, or the merchant, or the servant." He could say the following: "I will not take this arrow when I do not know who shot what my name, what is the ethnicity?" He might say, "I will not draw this arrow when I do not know who shot me high or low, or middle man." He might say, "I will not draw this arrow when I do not know who shot me black, dark skin or yellow skin." He might say, "I will not draw this arrow when I do not know which of the townships I belong to." He would say, "I will not draw this arrow when I do not know what bow I was shot in, either in the bow or the bow." He might say, "I will not draw this arrow when I do not know the rope I was shot in, the cords made of creepers, or mop, or ribs, or something. hemstitch, or a plastic tree. "He might say," I will not take this arrow when I do not know the name of my shot, the name of one of these mops or another mop. "He might say," I will not draw this arrow when I do not know what name I was shot, whether it was a feather, or a feather, or a feather, or Feathers, peacock feathers, or peacock feathers, or feathers of a kind. "He would say," I will not draw this arrow when I do not know the name I was shot in. (parikkhittam) by any vein, or with a cow, or with a buffalo, or with a vein, or with a donkey. "He might say," I will not draw this arrow when I I did not know the name that I was shot, that name was collected c sharp type name, or type the name of the hook,
Likewise, this Malunkyaputta, who said: "I will live the Blessed One when the Blessed One replies to me:" The world is permanent "or" the world is impermanent ... (as above) ... Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death, "this time Malunkyaputta, he will die and still not answer Tathagata.
Malunkyaputta, life can not say is dependent on the view "The world is permanent." Malunkyaputta, life can not say is dependent on the view "The world is impermanent." Malunkyaputta, if the view is "The world is permanent," or if the view is "The world is impermanent", the time is still born, old, dead, sad, the brain, which I teach the extinction right in the present.
Malunkyaputta, life can not be said to depend on the view that "the world is good". Malunkyaputta, life can not say is dependent on the view "The world is boundless." This Malunkyaputta, whether for the view that "the world is righteous", or even for the view that "the world is boundless", the time is still there, old, dead, sad, The brain that I teach the extinction right in the present.
Malunkyaputta, life can not say is dependent on the view "This life and the body is a". Malunkyaputta, life can not say it depends on the view of "This life and the body is different." Malunkyaputta, though, has the view that "this life and this body is one," or even to have the view that "this life and the body are different," the time is still present, old, dead, the suffering, suffering, goodness, the brain that I teach the extinction right in the present.
Malunkyaputta, life can not say that depending on the view "Tathagata exists after death."Malunkyaputta, life can not say that depending on the point of view "Tathagata does not exist after death." Malunkyaputta, if there is a view that "Tathagata existed after death" or oil for the view that "Tathagata does not exist after death", the time is still born, old, dead, the suffering, suffering, goodness, the brain that I teach the extinction right in the present.
Malunkyaputta, life can not say is depending on the view "Tathagata exists and does not exist after death." This Malunkyaputta, life can not say is dependent on the view that "Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death." Malunkyaputta, if there is a view that "Tathagata exists and does not exist after death," or whether there is a view that "the Tathagata does not exist and does not exist after death" being old, dying, having sorrow, sadness, suffering, goodness, and the brain, which I teach the extinction right in the present. "
So, this Malunkyaputta, let's say that we do not answer what we do not answer. Take the time to answer what I have answered. And this Malunkyaputta, what do not I answer? "The world is permanent," this Malunkyaputta is what I do not answer. "The world is impermanent" is what I do not answer. "The world is endowed" is what I do not answer. "The world is boundless" is what I do not answer. "This life and this body is one" is not answered. "This life and the other body" is what I do not answer. "Tathagata exists after death" is what I do not answer. "Tathagata does not exist after death" is what I do not answer. "Tathagata exists and does not exist after death" is what I do not answer. "
And this Malunkyaputta, why did not I answer that? Malunkyaputta, because it is not related to purpose, it is not the basis of blessedness, it does not lead to sacrifice, separation, ignorance, peace, victory, enlightenment, Nirvana, So I do not answer.
And this Malunkyaputta, what do I answer? "This is suffering," Malunkyaputta is what I answer. "" This is suffering "is what I say." This is suffering "is what I answered." This is the path leading to suffering ". What I answer.
And this Malunkyaputta, why did I answer that? Malunkyaputta, because it is related to purpose, that is the basis of the virtue, which leads to the sacrifice, separation, greed, tranquility, victory, enlightenment, Nirvana, so what I answered. So, Malunkyaputta, let's keep in mind that we do not answer what we do not answer. Take the time to answer what I have answered.
The Buddha preached so. Venerable Malunkyaputta welcomed the Buddha's teachings.END=NAM MO SAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIENAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.4/12/2018.
