Buddhist cosmology encompasses an extremely large number of world systems far farther than our earth. Outside the mundane world, the six realms of reincarnation, there are innumerable purelands that stretch in ten directions of the universe (eight directions of the compass, upper and lower). These pure heaven is the residence of the higher beings including the holy Buddhas and the great Bodhisattvas.

Among the numerous pure realms, there are some particularly important realms including the realms of Vairochana, the Vajrasattva, the Tara, the Avalokiteshvara, Avalokiteshvara, Maitreya, and Guru Padmasambhava. The most famous is Sukhavati, the Pureland realm on the west, on the other side of many universes. This ideal world is the home of the Buddha of Infinite Light. He controls a myriad of practitioners seeking enlightenment, ascetic and many other disciples. Because the light of his body permeates every other pure land without any obstacle, his name in Sanskrit is Amitabha, which means Infinite Light.

Amitabha is the focal point of a religious tradition called Pure Land Buddhism, very popular in China, Korea and Japan. In Tibet, the Pureland Pure Land is a popular object of prayer and meditation, especially in rituals for the dead. In the suttas, the Shakyamuni Buddha affirms to the followers that this is the purest reincarnation to reach enlightenment. Anyone who reincarnates in the Pure Land of Pure Land will also be fully enlightened, at least one lifetime, thanks to the qualities of this pure land, the blessings of the Buddha of Light and the merits theirs.

THE ORIGIN OF THE CHINESE TRADITION

The tradition of the Buddha Pure Land originates from many Buddhist texts. The sutras and tantras (tantric teachings) refer to the title and description of many pure land, but Shakyamuni Buddha is most concerned with describing the Pure Land Bliss of Amitabha Buddha with vivid and beautiful details.

The Mahāyāna Sutras are of particular importance to the Amida and the Amida. These teachings are the teachings of the Buddha to close disciples. He preached the Amitabha on the summit of Mt. Gridhakuta near the city of Rajagriha (modern day Rajgir, Bihar, India) for Ananda and Sanskrit.  (Sanskrit:  Ajita) and a huge congregation of other disciples. He lectured Amitabha in the Garden of Desolation (in Shravasti, Uttar Pradesh, India today) for Lord Sutra and another congregation of disciples. These two suttas have appeared in many translations, including Chinese (from the 3rd century AD), Korean and Japanese (from the seventh century). The great Tibetan translator Yeshe De moved these suttas from Tibetan to Tibetan in the ninth century. This chapter relies heavily on the Tibetan translation of the two sutras on the same number of texts and essays.

THREE THINGS OF REVOLUTION

As we have seen before, the Buddha of the Immeasurable and the Pureland of His Bliss as described in this book belong to the "form of manifestation", one of the three shades or three bodies of Buddha nature.

The first body is the ultimate body (Dharma body), which is the formless body, essence essence of Buddha nature, identical with the real. It is an absolute state of emptiness and total holiness, with no dimension, character or limitation.

The second body is the body (the body), which is the state of non-duality and most like. This is the pure land of the body, the pure and not separate from the Buddha's own mind. It spreads everywhere, eternal, unchanging and always full of joy. Only those who have attained enlightenment can see the ultimate pure and blissful realms.

The third form of Buddha nature is "body market" (incarnation). This is the physical body in which Shakyamuni Buddha and other Buddhas have manifested in our human world. The Pure Land is a relative form that ordinary and mundane beings, as we can discern if we have accumulated many good deeds. If we are reborn in one of the peaceful realms, we will advance in our effort to attain our spirituality and reach the absolute pure land.

As I have stressed, our perceptions and experiences at different stages of our lives, especially at the time of death, are the result of the mental habits we have created and It has been ingrained in our mindstream in the past. If our hearts are agitated and become anger, hatred and negative perceptions, the appearances, experiences of this life, and especially of our future lives will appear. with us in the form of the hell realm. If our minds are always busy with thoughts and actions of peace, bliss, concern for others and if we have positive perceptions such as the feelings of the pure land The world we reborn in will be a positive world full of peace as the Pureland Pure Land.

The focus of the exercises described in this book is to be reborn in the manifested body of the Pure Land. It would be easier to reincarnate into any other Pure Land because the powerful vows of the Buddha of Infinite Light would send all sentient beings to his Pureland Pure Land and would help them attain enlightenment. realization.

HOW THE BUDDHISM OF THE BUDDHA

The Great Amitabha Sutra tells the story of how the Pureland Pure Land was formed. Countless era ago, a monk named Dharmakara - who, according to industry becomes Buddha Amitabha - has bodhichitta (Sanskrit:  Bodhichitta) and made a vow in front of his teacher Lokeshvara that he would serve all sentient beings. At the same time, Dharmakara also made many special prayers to create his unique lands with some unusual qualities. When he attained Buddhahood, his prayers resulted in the formation of the Pure Land.

According to the Tibetan translation of the Amitabha, Dharmakara has made 51 prayers to bring sentient beings to his new Pure Land. The following five prayers give us a concept of the nature of his vow and pure land.

In the first vow, Dharmakara vowed that he would not become a Buddha if there were sentient beings who were reborn in his Pure Land, suffering from the sufferings of the Asanas, beasts, hungry ghosts, and hell. Thus, for example, from the moment a being in the hell realm is reborn in the Pure Land of Pure Land, all his sufferings as a sentient being of the hell realm will cease and that person will become a happy being of the pure land. (Let's remember that the difference between a living being in the lower realms and a being in the Pure Land is how they see and feel, the objects that arise in their consciousness.)

In the second vow, he vowed not to be righteous unless all beings born in his Pure Land would never have to be reborn in a lower realm.

In the fourth vow, He promised not to become a Buddha if beings born in his Pure Land had other characteristics than those of the human and the divine. He wants his Pure Land purely pure but also has the same qualities as the qualities of the human realm and the realm.

In His vow No. 19, I vow to not become a Buddha until all people have the desire to be reborn in His Pure Land, practice the recitation of His name and dedicate merit to it. is reborn in the pure land. "May all beings be like that. Even if one person repeats only ten ideas, one wants to reincarnate in our pure land, as long as he does not sin in the Five Reasons or deny the Dhamma. These conditions were not set forth by the Buddha; If beings are not ready to be liberated, the Buddha can not force them to be liberated.

In the 30th vow he promised that he would not become a Buddha until the beings in his future Pure Land not only ceased to suffer, but also had qualities like infinite wisdom and faith. .

The compassionate prayers of Amitabha Buddha are indeed very powerful. But only vows can not help us reincarnate into the pure land. On our side, we must also have our own efforts. We have to make sure that we do nothing to stop our chance, for example, commit one of the five "crimes" or reject the Dharma and we must open the way to the pure land. "Four causes" to be reborn in the Pure Land of Pure Land. (See annex A).

THE POWER OF THE BUDDHIS

Amitabha Buddha vowed to lead anyone to recite his name to his pure land. His title becomes the window through which we can see the Buddha of Infinite Light and His Pure Land.

Mahayana Buddhism teaches us to perceive everything as the form, the sound, and the experience of enlightenment. But to achieve this goal we have to enter through a specific gateway - perhaps a Buddha image, a sense of peace, or a sound with positive qualities. One such gateway is the title of Amitabha Buddha, who was blessed by Him to help us reach Him and let Him come to us.

The title of Amitabha Buddha is the presence of His wisdom, love and power. The moment we become aware of His name, He dwells in us and stays with us. Therefore, if we focus and merge with His name profoundly and with devotion, we receive innumerable qualities that make human beings enlightened. Devotion and trust in the Buddha will naturally bloom. Sooner or later, we will find no room for negative mental states or defilements such as greed, hatred, delusion and jealousy. When we human beings are filled with the blessing of the Buddha, we will serve others naturally. What we see, hear and feel arises as His presence. Reincarnation into the Pure Land of His Holiness is the next natural step,

If the blessed title becomes our mind and breath with devotion and praise, even while we are perceiving normal images, sounds, or sentiments - whether We are living, dying or being in the middle body - we will also be in touch with the Buddha through His name.

The effect will be especially strong if you can recite the title and pray the Buddha in the original language (Sanskrit) or in a language that has been blessed. But if praying in your own language gives you more inspiration, use your language, because it is important to open your mind with devotion and develop faith.

We should recite the Blessed Lord Buddha's name as often as possible. Appendix A explains the use of the title of the Buddha.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The appearance of the Pure Land is similar in many respects to the noblest qualities of the human realm and realm. Therefore, beings born in this pure land carry the same form as human beings and gods. Although the Pure Land appears to be the object of dualistic conception and emotion, it is full of generosity and positive qualities. It is heavenly, in heaven (not out of the ocean or on the ground) and full of precious materials. It operates in a hierarchical order composed of teachers and disciples. All beings born in this pure land are disciples and among these disciples there are Bodhisattvas. These bodhisattvas in turn will become teachers of others.

The Pure Land is like the human realm and the divine realm where it has structures of dimension, size, distance, relative time. But it does not suffer from human suffering like birth, old age, sickness. It also does not suffer from the suffering of the gods such as death or the lower realms. Explaining why this pureland is called the Pureland Pure Land, Shakyamuni Buddha says: "In the Pureland Pure Land there is no suffering in the body of beings. There is no suffering in their mind. There are countless causes for happiness. Therefore, it is called the Pure Land of Pure Land. "

The Land of Pure Land is soft and flat, like the palm of a young man. It is immense, youthful, fresh, gentle and smooth, with no thorns, gravel or slope. It is quiet, peaceful, blissful and pure. It is made of seven precious materials and is adorned with gold designs, with no trace of grossness, shabbyness, dirt, darkness or rottenness. It is vibrant, colorful and emits light rays. In this pure land, innumerable other pure Buddhist realms appear as reflections on the surface of a clear mirror. One can see these reflective purebreds just like people are watching other continents on a television in the living room.

This pure land has no normal mountains, dark, but it is adorned with many precious jewels, flat, with a low peak. Here and there, the mountains are adorned with precious jewels, precious mines, jewelery caves and elegant vineyards.

Trees extremely beautiful with many colors adorn the scenery of the Pure Land. There are trees made of one, two or three precious materials. Some of the other plants are made of seven precious materials: gold root, silver stem, jade leaf, crystal leaf, caroline flower petal, pearl and gerbera flower. . These plants are soft, touching to see the very smooth, radiant smell scented everywhere. In the breeze blows, people can hear the soft sounds.

This beautiful lagoon is also home to deep, deep ponds, lakes and rivers. They are happy to play in those places. There are gemstones leading down ponds in clear blue water. The ground is made of precious ivory pearls and covered with golden sand. The reservoir filled with water with eight healthy qualities: clear, cool, gentle, beautiful, soft, pure, good for the throat and stomach. The beautiful lotus floats floating on the surface of the beautiful aromatic water.

The temperature of the water changes as you like. The sound of the river sounds like the sound of hundreds of thousands of orchestras, and even the music in heaven is unmatched. On the banks and banks of the lake are fragrant orchards. The rivers resonate the teachings of the Fa at your request.

Birds of the Buddha are now living in this pure land. Like the mountains, flowers and other features of the pure land, birds are the manifestation of the Buddha and the Buddha himself. Therefore, they are a source of peace, joy, wisdom and enlightenment, not sources of greed, hatred, and clinging. Like a person in a normal plane hear ordinary birds singing, in this pure land you will hear birds singing the ecstatic sound of Dhamma. However, if you like silence then you will only hear the sound of silence.

All the flowers are made of precious materials with different colors. They are about half, one, or ten by the week. There are countless rays of gold emanating from each flower. On each ray of light there are countless Buddhas. The appearance of the Buddhas overwhelm the multitude of world systems, proclaiming the linguistic sound of the doctrine to the ears of all sentient beings.

The disciples in the pure land do not live by raw food. But if they want, whatever delicacy they like will appear before them and satisfy them without eating. Likewise, whatever they want - incense, perfume, parchment, jewelery, clothing, or jewelry - will appear before them as they wish. But these will not appear in front of people who do not want them.

For those who want to have a castle, there will be multi-storey castles, many domes built with precious materials that appear in front of them: full of chairs, invaluable beds, beautiful ornaments and styles. strange decoration. Each such mansion has thousands of heavenly beings serving the music and unlimited entertainment. The disciples walked through the sky with their magnificent castles, gardens, forests, rivers and lakes. Every morning, noon, noon, noon, midnight and early morning, the breeze blows from the four directions to the people. The wind blows on the tree as it rains down and lands on the ground with soft flowers like silk. When the gentle breeze touches you, you feel as happy as you are meditating. Soon the old flowers on the ground disappeared and replaced with new flowers.

In the Pure Land, every appearance, sound and feeling are the images, sounds and experiences of the Dhamma. This does not mean that formations become Buddha images or sounds become words in the Buddha's text, but rather, everything is the source or the presence of peace, bliss and sense. realization.

Right in the center of this rich plain there is the Tree of Enlightenment. This tree is 600,000  yojanaThe tree is adorned with beautiful leaves, flowers, beautiful fruit, precious stones and gold wreaths. When the winds touch, they emit sounds of enchantment that can be heard in many world systems. Those who hear, smell, or smell the Enlightenment - or those who taste the fruit, touch its light, or think it in the mind - will not be disturbed by perceptions and afflictions. .

The size and shape of the Tree of Enlightenment are described here in the way that ordinary people can see it, but in fact the tree is unthinkable. Under the tree there is a huge lotus plant. This is where the Buddha of Immaculate Buddha sat and from there he preached and liberated all sentient beings.

BUDDHA BUDDHA BUDDHA AND THEIR HOLIDAYS

Just as the King Mountain was above all the other peaks, so did Amitabha Buddha, with his mighty presence, above all else. His body is pure and unpolluted, adorned by 32 good generals and 80 beauties of a sublime. His body is pure and immense as the sky. It glows with the unthinkable light, illuminating the vastness of the Pure Land in ten directions. His light is virtue, enlightenment and wisdom. This brilliant light, beautiful, pristine, and crystal-clear, stimulates the body and mind of anyone who touches it with ultimate happiness, wisdom, and joy. Thus, he was called the Buddha of Light. Because of his longevity, he is also called the Buddha of Infinite Life.

His words constantly bring the rhythms of the Dhamma. His enlightened mind is an ocean of immense peace and wisdom. He understands all matters thanks to His infinite omnipotence. His mind is filled with love and compassion for all the suffering people, just like a mother's mind to her only child. With great faith, He makes the mind of everyone happy and fulfilling their needs with the constant flow of doctrine as the food of the divine is never exhausted. With great devotion, He shared with everyone the high attainment of His glorious water. Like a herd of cattle, He walked slowly but surely led the way for a large congregation of disciples as the sea.

In his Pure Land, the Infinite Buddha controls infinite disciples. They include those who seek enlightenment for oneself ( Sravakas :  Shravaka and pratyeka-buddha ) and seekers of enlightenment (Sanskrit:  bodhisattva, meaning Bodhisattva). Among the Bodhisattvas, the following must first be mentioned: Avalokiteshvara, Mahasthamaprapta, Manjushr, Kshitigarbha, Sarvanivaranaviskambini, Akashagarbha, Maitreya and Samantabhadra. All of these have five kinds of extraordinary abilities: (1) They can go for a minute through many world systems to teach others. Every morning, these disciples went to countless other pure lands, bowed to the Buddhas in those places and listened to the teachings before they returned to the Pureland of Pure Land. (2) They have the ability to recall events that occurred from previous eras with the purpose of learning and teaching. (3) Their divine vision allows them to look at many world systems so that they can recognize the beings that the Bodhisatta can help. (4) Their wonderful ears can hear the teachings of many Buddhas as well as the prayers of many sentient beings. (5) Understand the mental states of sentient beings in many realms so that they can serve these beings appropriately. With these miraculous powers, Bodhisattvas bring joy and benefit to countless beings in many world systems.

Not all beings in the Pureland Pure Land have these abilities. This is because they are skeptical of reincarnation into the Pure Land of Pure Land or lack of complete faith in the power of the Buddha of Infinite Buddha and His Vowings.

Other beings reborn in this pure land can lie in the heart of a lotus for 500 years and during that time not even see the Buddha. They will enjoy peace and happiness in pure flowers, but because they have skepticism, the flowers remain closed and they do not see the Pure Land and the Buddha.

Not all disciples in this Pure Land are Bodhisattvas of the tenth stage of the Bodhisattva or the highest stage of those who seek enlightenment for others, but for all disciples, This will be their last life before attain Buddhahood because everyone here will be enlightened by the will of the Buddha - unless they do not want to.

None of the disciples lived the life of a married couple with their spouses, because all were not bound to sexual objects. No one deviates from the moral, emotional and material rules, since such a life is indispensable in the pure land. Sentient beings in the Pureland Pure Land are more delicate than the sentient beings in the mundane, mentally, emotionally and physically. Even for them there is no distinction between men and women. However, according to some texts and teachings on the Pureland Pure Land, although there are no ordinary men and women among those who have been reborn in the Pure Land, there are still male gods. and the female Buddha of the Infinite Light is present to serve beings.

There is no birth in the womb because everyone is born with miraculous birth in large flowers, brilliant, fragrant, precious. No one excretes urine, feces or viscous sputum because sentient beings do not have crude bodies and do not eat merciless food.

The Buddha taught:

In the Pure Land of the Infinite Buddha,
Because everyone is enjoying the food of meditation
So even the name of the food is not available.

Everyone has a pure skin like gold. The bodies of all the disciples in the Pure Land are powerful and powerful, displaying 32 generals of the great beings. The light of their bodies illuminates the whole of space. Buddha:

In the Pure Land of the Buddha of Infinite Light
The intellect of the noble ones always shines.
There is no darkness,
and there is no difference between day and night.

Their mind is peaceful and they are full of belief and wisdom. They are blessed with what they enjoy, and they enjoy nature without clinging, without hunger and without affliction. Even those who have not transcended the suffering and the causes of suffering are often blessed with the power of the pure land. No one has to suffer from illness or old age. Life expectancy is endless thanks to the power of virtue. As soon as they are reborn in the Pure Land, all suffering experiences will end because in the Pure Land there is no feeling of suffering.

REINSTALLING FOR REALIZATION

These descriptions of the Pureland Pure Land are just a one-sided look at the unimaginable riches of the Pure Land. In fact, even celestial beings can not see all these endless qualities, and even the Buddhas can not explain all because of the inability of words.

According to the Buddhist scriptures, the vow of the Buddha is so powerful that if you remember him, you will not only be reborn in his pure land, but also see himself in life live as in dreams and in the illusions. At the moment of your death, the Buddha of Infinite Light will appear in front of you among countless disciples. Especially if you remember the Buddha and his Pureland Pure Land when you were in the middle, that memory would make you reborn in his Pure Land. That is because in the midst of it, changing circumstances is easier.

In order to be reborn in the Pure Land, you do not need to attain high enlightenment in meditation. By the Buddha's willingness, what you need to do is to practice the "four causes" that open your mind to make it receptive to such an ability. The only condition is that you can not commit any sin in the year of sin or denial of the Dhamma. Shakyamuni Buddha teaches about four causes:

"Ananda. There are people [1] who constantly think of the Buddha [the Infinite Light and His Pure Land of Pure Land]. [2] They create immeasurable merit. [3] They develop enlightened mind (bodhichitta). [4] They dedicate their merit and make a wish to be reborn in the Pureland of Pure Land. When they die ... they will be reborn in the universe of the Pure Land.

By cultivating devotion and thinking of the Infinite Buddha, we will be reborn in His Pure Land of Pure Land, a peaceful, eternal, blissful, Become a source of peace and contentment for others. This wonderful opportunity is the promise of the Buddha of Infinite Light for each one of us. The authenticity of this promise has been clearly stated by the Buddha himself. That is the path that has been challenged by the sages and Buddhists of the past.

Some Buddhists who consider themselves "non-theistic" may think that the Pureland Pure Land is only for devotees who have a more spiritual approach. However, let us take Naggajuna as an example. He was the most important proponent of the Mahayana emptiness theory, a non-theistic school that rejected existing, non-existent radicals. But the historical Buddha himself had a prophecy that "a naga [rjuna] ... would be born into the Pureland of Pure Land when he left his body." Thus, if the most important teacher of the greatest non-theistic school of Buddhism is to be reborn in the Pure Land, any follower of Buddhism, theistic or not, may wish to be born. into that realm.

In order to make it easier to reincarnate in the Pure Land, it is important for the dying person to have a support system in and around them. The next chapter tells us how supporters can help. END=NAM MO SAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.7/11/2018.
