CHAPTER 10. FINAL THINKING.
Death is a new beginning. It is the path that leads us to the dawn of new opportunities, so that we can enjoy the fruits we cultivate, in accordance with the law of cause and effect. Whilst the karmic wheel is constantly rotating, its effects after death are far greater and more direct than when we were alive.
Why so? As long as we are alive, our minds are programmed to operate within the structure of our physical bodies and our daily habits. Changing these structures is basically a difficult one. But once the mind has left the body at death, it will move its own way. The only thing conditionalizing our perception is the habits that we have planted in our mindstream.
We all experience through experience that when our minds are full of joy, all that we hear, see and feel can bring us joy. When our minds are in anger, anything can make us uncomfortable. These reactions are even more pronounced after death, as everything shows up in front of us according to our mental and emotional habits. So, if we are completely dominated by greed, hatred and delusion, then we will be reborn in a place devastated by hunger, ignorance, and terrible phenomena. If we have lived in loving kindness, our world will manifest as a world of peace and bliss. If we have enjoyed the qualities of a Pure Land of Pure Land,
If we have realized the nature of the enlightenment of the mind and perfect it, our mind will be united with the ultimate universal truth, ultimate peace and our service to others will be effective. It is like the sun shining all things naturally.
Some of us may be worried about what awaits us when we die. But now is not the time to be afraid and sad. This is the time when we must realize that we have a very valuable opportunity to prepare for that great day and transform our lives in the right direction for now and forever, for ourselves. us and for others.
Even if we are old, until the last breath, change the direction of our life is not too late. We do not have to do anything serious. We just need to relax a little and enjoy the innate feelings of peace and joy in us that we can enjoy and what spiritual tradition we want.
If we are young, it is better to quickly improve our future now, because to be slower, we may not be able to do anything. Just breathe out and breathe in so that we can set foot on the threshold of the afterlife. Young people can not escape that end.
All the prayers and meditations in this book are tools to help us develop our spiritual qualities. Dedication to generate the power of positive perception. Compassion is to open hearts with love with people. Prayers are for expressing positive thoughts and feelings. Pure awareness is to see things and people as a source and presence of peace and bliss. Religious rituals are the recipes for creating an active culture in our lives. Visualizing the Buddhas and the Pure Land is to transform the images and thoughts of our mind into positive perceptions. The experience of the blessings of the revered ones is to bring us to the realms of rebirth. Receiving prayers,
In Tibet my hometown, many people spend many years in deserted places or in caves to practice for themselves and for others. Such a life and dedication is wonderful. But not necessarily do so. If we practiced sincerely for only 10 or 20 minutes a day, either praying to the Buddha of the Infinite Buddha or performing another meditation, our practice will show all mental qualities. I mentioned above. Then if we can all the time remember what we have felt during our practice, its effect will gradually permeate into our whole life. Someday, we will see that our whole attitude has changed. We do not have to try to create the sense of peace and the presence of the revered ones. We have become gods. Death and rebirth will be a seamless flow of peaceful wheel that is rotated by the power of our mind.
How can only a few minutes of true meditation produce such great results? To explain this, Shantideva said: "If you develop bodhicitta, then from that moment on, whether you fell asleep or distracted, the power of merit is constantly increasing. , full of space ". The important thing is not the duration of a practice but the intensity of the session. If we push a strong wheel, the wheel will continue to spin for a long time after that. Likewise, if we start our meditation with whole-hearted meditation, the spiritual strength of that meditation will continue to exist. That power is even stronger each time you meditate.
I myself am not a great prayer and adhere to meditation sessions for a long time. But by virtue of my nature and my education, I have become an earnest believer in the eternity of noble qualities inside and outside of us. We call these qualities the quality of the Buddha. I often admire those qualities and enjoy their presence. So, at the crossroads of the other side of this life, I partly hope that there are some peaceful faces that will guide me to rebirth in a happier, and happy.
I sincerely hope that you, my dear readers, will like the teachings of the Buddha and the great Buddhist masters that I have shared with you in this book, and you will enjoy.
