The old story that: At the time of the Buddha, there is a disciple who is offering clothes, wearing just two or three days is dirty, ragged; When eating rice, bowl of rice has not finished all up, but do not know how to keep cheap articles
One day, Lord Buddha told this person to take off his robes, dress like a secular, and go to the alms round. When he came to the city, the people who used to donate, today see him, everyone definitely will not offer anymore. Having seen his disciples return, the Buddha asked:
- What are you offering today?
- Well, I have not received anything today. The Blessed One gave me back the robes.
- I also intend to return the cassette you sent me, but forget where it is. Well, here are the cotton swabs, you can get that yourself dressed in robes can also wear.
After saying this, the Buddha gave this disciple a bag of cotton wool. He thought to himself: how do you make clothes with these? The student asked in a bored tone:
- Lord, I am not a magician, how can I make this shirt with cotton swabs?
To make a robes, people have to put a lot of effort into it.
The Buddha said:
- The robes are made of cotton, no need to be a magician can do. There are some fixed things to do, and everyone can do. But to turn cotton wool into a fabric takes a lot of arduous labor, must pick cotton wool, spinning, weaving into fabric, then cut sewing ... to become a cassette. The parachute I need, do like that to get.
He asked in amazement:
- God, so annoying?
- Yes, to make a casserole to go through so many hardships. So you have to know how to keep things, and not just clothes. I see you eat such waste of rice. You have to know, a grain of rice is the farmer has to work hard to have. Want to have that grain of rice to cook, then sow the grass, picking up feces, slicing, harvesting, milling, gradually ready ... We live through the day safely like this is due to help of many people. So you should not forget that gift, but must use the heart of gratitude to preserve the things that they donate to us, and take the diligent practice to report the blessings of the benefactors.
Because a cassock does not make a monk, so cherish what you have and cherish the things around you, so that you are worthy of cultivating.
Speech:
Actually all the wealth of the world, the wealth of the world for the Buddha does not mean anything. But even if it is a branch of grass, a branch of the tree in this world, there is nothing He is not careful to keep. It is because he always understands and respects the work and the heart of those who have made the material. Therefore, as a person who understands morality, can not fail to remember his profound teachings.
Buddhist teaching: "spiritual things", the four meanings: all things are born beings are souls, there are beings. So should cherish them cherished, can not arbitrarily waste.
The gods, the Higher wisdom as wisdom, the higher virtue, the more compassionate immeasurable.
In the time of Dharma, the more material, the higher the living level, the more extravagant people waste. The ethical and cultural values that follow that are ignored, even between human beings and people are also lack of mutual respect, it is not a "waste" terrible and scary?
Recall the story of the Buddha in the past taught his disciples must cherish cherished from rice bowl to rice cloth. This is worth thinking about!.END=NAM MO SAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.THE MIND OF ENLIGHTENMENT.VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=GOLDEN LOTUS MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.6/7/2018.
