The journey of the Buddha to the eternal suffering of humanity.
Whenever my soul is confused and disturbed by human suffering, it is natural that Bui Giang's verses, poems that I once drank have the opportunity to come alive in my sad soul:
Song Oh I quit fog
Go thiêm enemy realms business cards call each other
(Rain source)
I read again and again to remind myself that my suffering has nothing to do with the great suffering that Bui Giang (or all the genuine artists in general), with how much Dreaming for life, but when faced with real life, those beautiful dreams that immediately killed life strangely:
Then I grew up in the footsteps of
spring Spring was not tragic
( Rainy source)
But why do people cause themselves to suffer?
Perhaps there is no more accurate answer than the answer of a human being with his homeland. That person is none other than Mahatma Gandhi:
"The Earth has enough food to nourish people, but not enough to sustain human excesses."
Therefore so when introduced Indian philosophy to the world, Radhakrisnan, philosophers and also the President of India summarized the 3,000 year history of thought in India by 10 digits as follows:
"Live and let other people live with ... " (1) .
One of the paths in the land of the
people to the same old district ...
"Do not know where the body of the district has been wandering?" (3) .
The above questions of Bui Giang remind us of the question that hovered in the poem called Andenken. It is known to Hoelderlin that when he was alone in the woods of Germany, he often read in loneliness and waited:
"Where are my friends now? To Friend Bellermin.
With his companions?
Many people hesitated on their way back to the source stream. "
What are the so-called "homestay" , "where do the parents of the district" or " Where are the sources" ? Who will guide the human race to return?
Read Martin Heidegger and modern thought and many other writings of Bui Giang for almost half a century now we see Bui Giang often refer to the East or the primordial Greek. In the same place, the Greek philosophers of pre-Socratic philosophers are also the Eastern realms. But because of the sea breeze, the historic disaster has made people forget the way back to hear the first call of the Tathagata.
And Bui Giang has described wandering through the two verses.
Ask name? That sea blue mulberry
Ask the country? That the original dream was far away
Who would be the one preparing for the return to this source?
That person is certainly none other than the French still bodhisattva Martin Heidegger , as Bui Giang called. How to prepare? In Con road junction , Bui Giang write:
"Heidegger lightweight jacket only half full hand half overturned two thousand years Western philosophical thought and erected something no title to specify."
It is absurd to most of us, who run after the ordinary life, the "realms have no title to specify", only the poet haunt and quietly seek in the middle of a The society is flustered and scandalous.
"Who are you? Did you come back from the thousand or return from flower color back thousands? But no matter who it is, it's okay. Hey, I gave her a poem. You hear me: You allow me to sit here and ask again. And call on the old moon wandering. That color to the dreaded frost. It is a matter of speeding up the road " (4) .
Bui Giang once stopped by the road to ask a strange girl he did not know so.
I have a long way to Bui Giang, because for more than half a century in Vietnam one must recognize that Bui Giang is the only poet who dared to devote his entire life to the event. "Lu" of poetry. No door, no home, no money, no silver, even a fixed place to lie down is not always.
But Bui Giang (or all the real artists in general) has a responsibility? Is it miserable? No. of course. For the simple reason that they do not seek out the riches outside, they seek the wealth from within themselves, they have unrequited pleasure from this wealth:
Northeast alone I walk to the
mouth Drenched search for Southwest
Going through the country across the landscape,
Dreams dreamed of a multitude of worlds. "
So, writing poetry, writing or translating philosophical books for true artists is not to fame or boast of knowledge erudite. "Bui Giang has confided:
" The bored poet who has to write poetry. I am just an orangutan, imitate the sky that can not imitate, so fun ... " (5) .
That's it, I remember one time when he talked about Confucius, about Nguyen Du, suddenly stopped and told me: "How old he is, twenty years old, yet "How do you understand Nguyen Du, understand Confucius?"
At first I defended myself why I did not have the right to understand when I was young. But after events in the country as well as in the world, I suddenly realized that if Nguyen Du had witnessed the turbulent changes of national history from the second half of the 18th century to the end of the century New writing Kieu story, so me too. How can you understand what Nguyen Du wrote even just two verses opening the story of Kiều alone:
Experiencing a strawberry tank
Seeing that painful heart ...
If you do not witness the great separation of ethnicity in the mid 70s.
Confucius? Although I dared not say the words, but in my heart still think that, Confucius only let the ancient souls who love to master life, or advise others to do this, to do that. But now, just reading the simple short story at the signing ceremony, I have seen the great Confucius:
"A lord in the water, for two children to learn again. Thus he was introduced to the Chu court in Luoyang; but he avoided the palace and enjoyed visiting Lao Tzu who was near death. When returning home, he saw his fatherland devastated by insurgency, he and his students through Qi. Passing through a rugged, desolate mountain, he was surprised to see a Taoist man crying over a grave. He wrongly asked again why. "My father-in-law was tacked here, and my husband was here, too," he said. Confucius asked such a dangerous place why not go elsewhere, she replied: "Because here are not harsh officials." Confucius returned to the disciples: "You remember! Harsh policies are worse than tigers! "" (6) .
It is hard to imagine that, just a short statement "You remember it! Harsh policies are tougher than tigers! "Came from a remote village in China more than 20 centuries ago. Yet until the beginning of the 21st century is still the same value. The only other thing is, the tiger is on the verge of extinction, because of the cruel human pursuit. Therefore, people are no longer afraid of tiger anymore but only afraid of the harsh policy of man-made. Please quote another statement of Confucius in the text:
"Guo Qiang (a great-great-grandfather) questioned about how to govern" I want to kill some infidels for the people of fear that turn out to be honest. Do you think so? " Confucius replied: "You want to rule, you need to kill people. He turns to good, the people will turn good. Germany's rulers as well as the wind, but the individual as the grass. The wind blows the grass " (7) .
If today humanity is proud of living in a civilized world, there is no other way than Confucius's solution. That is, no one has the right to name any reason to kill people indiscriminately.
Historian Will Durant, who admired Confucius, remarked, "In Confucianism, there is something obstinate, severe, contrary to the natural impulse of man; If we can do the right way, the soul will be barren ... ". But later the historian said: "Do not blame Confucius on all the weaknesses; No one asks a philosopher to think for twenty centuries. In a lifetime how can find the path to intellectuals for all future generations. Few people do it as fully as Confucius " (8) .
From Will Durant's remarks on Confucius - can we return to see if the application of Buddhism to today's world has made the human mind "obstinate, stern or barren"?
In the Rohitassa in Samyutta Nikaya, the Buddha proclaimed,
"In this very long body, with the senses and thoughts. Tathagata proclaims the world, the origin of the world, the cessation of the world, and the path to the end of the world. "
That means the mission of Buddhism is more comprehensive and radical than the liberation of all suffering of human life. Because the lama's name in the above teachings of the Buddha is an allusion to suffering " (9) .
In the first sermon at Deer Park in Benares, the Buddha summed up the suffering that took on the human condition is unavoidable:
"Birth is suffering, aging is suffering, illness is suffering, death is suffering, living with someone you do not like is suffering, separation from the person you love is suffering, desire is not suffering. In short, the buds of the five aggregates are suffering " (10) .
If the harshness of imperial policy caused only a number of countries in previous feudal and some advanced countries today, the suffering mentioned by the Buddha in the first teachings above At any time in society, whether society is progressive or backward, tolerant or hard, it can not be changed. In other words, when we have these five aggregates, we still have to suffer from it, so we can call it the eternal suffering of man.
If Confucius is said to be the most practical philosopher in the sages of the Orient, by saying, Without knowing life, knowing death (the true being, the great one), we have enough reason to look The Buddha as the most practical, may be more practical than Confucius. For what is more practical when the Buddha warns us that suffering or happiness, aristocracy or untouchables, freedom or slavery, sabotage or liberation are all determined by the word " in this one long body. "
To say so, does not mean that the Buddha does not care about social reform. On the other hand, whenever there is an opportunity to talk about the hot issues of society, the Buddha expresses his desire for a better society. A good society means a society in which "the people are not persecuted, exploited, beaten, imprisoned, burdened with heavy taxes, and subject to cruel punishment" (11)
. Does a good society mean that a society does not have such bad things?
The Buddha stated in a sermon entitled Ten Tasks of the King (Jains), which is narrated in Jataka ( Story precursor.
There are provisions that today are still hot and sore issues for many countries such as "The ruler has no hunger and clinging to property, money, but must do. people are warm "or" 8th harmless "(avihimsa), not only means harmless, but also means that the ruler must try to make peace by avoiding and preventing war, or involvement. to violence and the killing of life. " But most importantly, the 10th thing is "not averse, not averse (avirodha), that is, the ruler must not go against the will of the people, not be prevented from any measures that lead to profit for the whole people. In other words, the ruler must agree with the will of the people " (12) .
What's more, history seems to always have an interesting coincidence. Not only Oriental but at that time the ancient Greek philosophers of the West are anxious to find a model to make human society better. This is the case of Plato (428-374) BC, whose legend holds that after the death of a teacher of Socrates, he came to the banks of the Ganges to study the religion with Indian masters and philosophers. Plato's view of an ideal nation is "we can not dream of perfect nations if we do not have perfect human beings." (13). Perfect countries must therefore be governed by a philosopher, because "water-based treatment is both science and art; it requires much dedication and study. Only philosophers are suitable for water management. When philosophers become kings and all the kings of the world have become philosophers, the vices of the society will be terminated " (14) .
Of course, in the social and political context at that time, the whole nation was dependent on one person. The prosperity or decline is determined by a person. So it is natural that Plato wants the leader to be a philosopher, and Confucius is a nobleman, for according to Confucius, the virtue of the nobleman (or philosopher, As the wind (soldiers of the deceased) and the black population is like the grass (mercury), but grass will of course fall down when the wind blows. ).
It is because of such limited visibility that the power of the whole nation is forgotten. Perhaps, the Buddha was the first person in the history of humanity to be mindful of both. In addition to the necessary virtues for a ruler, at that time called the King (Rāja), He also shows us the strength of an entire nation is located?
In one of the sermons that the Buddha preached to Vassakra, the magadha of Magadha, to persuade the most aggressive emperor of his time, Ajatasattu, Dismissing the people killed Vajji.
This is a prayer that many people today need credit for daily life , if you want to flourish for your country:
"Like this I heard. At one time the Blessed One was in Rajagaha at the summit of Gijjhakùta, then his son, Ajatasattu Vedehiputta, wanted to conquer the Vajjias. The king said to himself, "I have conquered the Vajjias, though they have authority, and they are mighty. I decided to make Vajji grass; I will destroy the Vajji people, I will cause the Vajji people to perish. "
Then Ajatasattu Vedehiputta, the king of Magadha, told Brahmin Vassakra, the magadha of Magadha:
"Brahmin, go to the Blessed One, and in My name, bow down to His feet, His problem is disease, brain, scorn, health, stay:" Lord Buddha, Ajatasattu Vedehiputta king of Magadha bowed at the feet of the Blessed One, his problems with disease, mental shortness, contempt, and stay "and please continue:" Lord Buddha, Ajatasattu Vedehiputta king Magadha wants to conquer the Vajji people. , he said to himself, "I am determined to conquer the Vajjias. I will destroy the Vajji people, I will cause the Vajji people to perish. " How the Buddha, how to remember carefully and tell us again. The Buddha never said the dream.
"Sun, please." Brahmin Vassakra, Magadha the Magadha, obeyed the teachings of Ajatasattu Vedehiputta, the king of Magadha, who won the victorious carriages, riding on his own, with the chariots coming out of Ragagaha, Then, to the car to stop the car, then get off the car to the Buddha, when it comes to say the social affair with the Buddha and sit down one side. After sitting down on one side, Brahmin Vassakra, Magadha, the Blessed One:
"Phra Gotama, Ajātasattu Vedehiputta, the king of Magadha bowed to the feet of the god Gotama, his problem is minimized, brain deprivation, contempt, health, stay. Phra Gotama, Ajatasattu Vedehiputta, king of Magadha, wanted to conquer Vajji. "I decided to conquer these Vajjias, though they have the authority, they are mighty, I am the Vajji grass; I will destroy the Vajji people, I will cause the Vajji people to perish. "
The flourishing condition of a nation at that time, the virtue Ananda standing fan behind the Buddha. The Blessed One said to Ananda:
"Ananda, do you hear the Vajji people gather and gather together?"
- Lord, I have heard the Vajji people often gather and gather together.
- Ananda, every day Vajji people often gathered together, Ananda, Vajji people will be strong, not decline. Is Ananda, who hears the Vajji people gather in unity, dissolves in unity, and works in unity?
- Lord, I have heard the Vajji people gathered in the concept of unity, dissolved in the concept of solidarity, and work in unity.
- Ananda, when people gather in unity, dissolve in unity, and work in unity in this time Ananda, Vajji people will be strong, not weakened. Hey Ananda, who heard the Vajji people do not promulgate rules that have not been promulgated, abolished the rules that were promulgated, and lived up to the Vajji tradition as enacted in the past, Ananda, the Vajji people. be strong, not weakened. Is Ananda, who hears the Vajji people worship, respect, pay homage to the Vajji elders and listen to their teachings?
- Lord, I have heard the Vajji people worship, respect, bowing, offering the elderly Vajji and listen to the teachings of these people.
- Ananda, when the Vajji people worship, respect, worship, offering the Vajji elders and listen to the teachings of these people Vajji people will be strong, not decline. Hey, Ananda, who heard the Vajjians have no kidnapping and forced the women and girls Vajji to live with?
- Lord Buddha, I heard the Vajji no kidnapping and forced the women and girls Vajji have to live with.
- And Ananda, when the Vajjians have no abduction and forced the women and girls Vajji to live with their time, this Ananda Vajji will be prosperous and not be reduced.
- Ananda, who heard the Vajji worship, respect, bowing, offering the temple of Vajji in the province and outside the province, not abandoned the sacrifices that have been made before, right before the law?
- Lord, I have heard the Vajji people worship, respect, bowing, offering the temple of Vajji in the province and outside the province, not abandon the offerings that were worshiped before, have done before the right with rules.
- Ananda, when the Vajji people revered, respected, worshiped, offered the temple of Vajji in the province and outside the province, not abandoned the offerings that were worshiped before, have done before the right The Vajji Ananda would be prosperous and not be reduced. Hey Ananda, who has heard the Vajji people protect and protect the Arahats in Vajji, rightly so that the Arahats who have not come will come to the land, and the Arhats have come to live peacefully. are not?
- Lord Buddha, I have heard the Vajji people protect, protect, legal support the Arahats in Vajji that the Arahats have not arrived in the land, and the Arahats have come to live. peace.
- Ananda, when the Vajji people protect, protect, legal support the Arhats in Vajji that the Arahats have not arrived in the land, and the Arahats have come to live peacefully. This time, Ananda Vajji people will be prosperous, not deteriorated.
Then the Blessed One with Brahman Vassakra, the magadha of Magadha:
- Brahmin, a time when I lived in Vesali at Sarandada shrine, I taught the Vajji people the seven rotten things. Brahman, when these seven rotten laws are maintained between the Vajji people, when the Vajji people are taught seven lawless rot, this Brahman, the Vajji people will be strong, not deteriorated. .
When it is said, Brahmin Vassakra, Magadha the White Rabbit with the Blessed One:
- Evangelist Gotama, if the Vajji people only meet a rotten law this, the Vajji people will definitely be prosperous, not deteriorated, in which all seven law rotten. Phra Gotama, Ajatasattu Vedehiputta, the king of Magadha, could not defeat the Vajji warriors, unless diplomatically or indirectly. Phra Gotama, now we have to go, we have many things and many obligations.
"Brahmin, do what you think is appropriate.
Brahmin Vassakra, the great Magadha, praised the Master's words from his seat and stood up.
Professor Tran Ngoc Ninh has transferred these seven rotten law into the language of modern times as follows:
1. Democratic activities.
2. The spirit of national unity.
3. The rule of law.
4. Generation harmony.
5. respect for women.
6. Religious respect.
7. The policy of attracting intellectuals (15) .
Thus, these seven rotten things are not a theory to argue right or wrong, but an obvious practice that any ruler who truly wants his country to exist and develop.
With the Buddha, the spiritual development of each individual as well as the common problems of the social community must be practiced properly, not theories or views. As once the Buddha warned his disciples not to build or to stand under any theory, because:
"The Kacians, the world, most of the world, seek systems, and are bound by the creeds. Those who do not seek systems, do not need theoretical positions, do not follow the creeds, do not accept the dogma, do not consider the dogma as fortress. He will have no doubt and hesitation, because he does not depend on others for his understanding, his understanding is self-knowledge. That is the right perspective. " (Samyutta Nikaya)
The Buddha's vigil after more than 20 centuries is more than ever. Is not the 20th century the century on which the people of this planet have fallen victim to these ideological, ideological and dogmatic fortresses?
And as long as the Buddha had predicted such suffering:
"Each of these views is a bush, a desert, a labyrinth, a slave, an intellectual bondage that only causes pain, distress, disturbance and disturbance." (Majjhima Nikaya)
The Buddha's teachings on these seven rotten things , in the 16th verse of Digha Nikaya, translated by Supreme Patriarch Ming, are the days and the last teachings of the Buddha . In the introduction, the monk Minh Chau wrote: "Looking at activities in the last days, the more we see the mood of the guru, not thinking about his health, but just doing. Let your disciples be free from ignorance, lose one when you are no longer to teach.
That's right, every time I read The Last Days and the Teachings of the BuddhaI think that, as Buddhism does not have the Tripitaka, only these days and the last teachings are enough to keep us strong enough to stand up and continue to walk in the midst of life. suffering and almost absence of this love.
Starting from Mount Vung Tau in Rajagaha. After experiencing more than 13 towns and cities, the Buddha finally arrived at Kusinara, in the middle of the forest, although not in season, but bloomed as if to say goodbye to the last Buddha.
In that long journey, despite the health has been exhausted, but where and where he stops reminds all the monks disciples of his ordained efforts to practice day and night lawless three is presented, specify , and Property It is the most basic doctrine on the path to the end of suffering.
Along with the seven rotten laws , seven conditions to flourish for a country that the Buddha preached to Vassakra, the magadha of Magadha above, then the Buddha also reminded seven do not rot , that is. Seven conditions to flourish for the sangha.
In Pātaligāma, the Buddha preached to laypeople, ie his lay disciples saw five dangers to those who transgressed the precepts, that is to say contrary to precepts. On the contrary, there are five benefits for those who keep their precepts and live according to the precepts.
In those five benefits, there are two special things to say here:
Article 1 The Buddha said: "The householders, who keep the precepts according to precepts, will have money of abundant, because life is not liberated ...".
And the third thing: "Again, the householder, the preceptor, live according to the precepts when he comes into them, or the Emperor, or Brahmā, or the householder, Sa ,mon, he goes in with mind not afraid, confused ".
Such precepts are no longer confined to what is known as "blasphemy" as is commonly understood by all. Being out of the closet means that we no longer spend useless money on "fun throughout the month, laughing all night". Did not many families have broken up and dispersed just because of that let down?
But more importantly, when our hearts are pure, we will not tremble or be embarrassed by anyone, even those who have higher status than us (Brahmins, Emptiness ... of India at the time), and today we are often referred to as those who have the authority, always ready to "magically brave martial arts" to prove authority over the low neck.
Thus, keeping the precepts of Buddhism also means that we affirm our personality in the society in which we live.
Buddhism, all have to start from the ground and filled with suffering darkness this means Tung Plates made as of the Lotus Mahayana has announced so. Because only in the darkness new people crave the light and only in the mud, then people dream of looking up at the sky wide.
Also on that last journey, when the Buddha stopped by the Ganges River, he saw "the Ganges were so flooded that the crow could drink. Someone is looking for a boat, some people are looking for floats, some people tied up to the other side. The Buddha, as swiftly as the athlete stretching his arms are shrunk or stretched arms, disappeared from the side of this side and appeared on the other shore with the monks.
The Blessed One saw those people, who were looking for the boat, who was looking for floats, who were going to the pillar to cross the other shore. The Buddha understood the meaning of this scene. At that time, he responded sensibly:
"Those who make the sea pass over the ocean, leaving the soil full of ponds, while the ordinary people are tied up, they are really liberated by wisdom."
Although it is the feeling of the Enlightened One, a saint, but how close we feel to us! We have the impression that he is no longer sitting on the lotus to give us a lecture, but he is a poet who walks in the midst of this suffering to sing the song of hope. Hopefully one day people will rise up from the darkness.
It is not strange, because before enlightenment, He is also a human as we are, that is, he also experienced as much suffering as we do. But by his own extraordinary effort, he finally reached the highest peak of the Supreme Being.
But this passage has made a Western historian who is sympathetic to Buddhism to be disappointed. Will Durant writes:
"We must now fall from that mountain of philosophy and hear the naïve myths handed down to the end of my life at the same time of the Buddha. Although he often practiced the miracles, his disciples also embroidered a thousand tales of miracles he had accomplished. He flew in a flash through the other side of the Ganges " (16) .
Of course, as a historian Will Durant has good reason to express his frustration.
But the matter of miracles or miracles, though, does not play a role in human activity, but it seems that human beings are always haunted and questioned for generations. So here we can see whether miracle or miracle is real or not? And what about the Buddha's views on miracles and miracles?
In fact, from the early decades of the twentieth century, magic or magic was real, Alexandre David Neel in Mystics and Magicians Tibet , said that it was her eyes that saw the Tibetans on the wrong path. are not? How is that explained? This is the explanation of the English bishop Charles W. Leadbeater (1847 - 1934), after years of study with the Taoists on Snow Mountain:
"... For example, people can not pick up a stone that weighs a ton, even if the athlete is limited to muscle mass and a ton is too great a weight compared to human muscle strength. . On the contrary, with the practice of the will to use the power of nature, people can pick up tons of heavy rocks with ease. This seems unbelievable and unethical, but empirical science is based on limited physical laws that can not explain supernatural phenomena beyond physical pressures. During my practice in Tuyet Son, I witnessed many scathing scumbags, my crane crane lifted huge rocks, weighed tons, to fill the cave, for not wanting to stir up the tranquility. their. (17) .
But is the use of such divinely-inspired Zen masters contrary to the teachings of the Buddha? According to La Ma Govinda, "I was told by high lamas that Tibetan Buddhism never mentions spiritual cultivation as a goal. Divine power is only a by-product of the quest for liberation. When attaining maturity, the cultivator will, of course, gain spiritual power. However, because of their special position, some means are still allowed to be taught in the monasteries " (18) .
In the Book of Kevaddha recorded when the Buddha was in Nalanda, a young layman named Kevaddha asked the Buddha to teach the bhikkhu, the goddesses, to convert the Nalanda The country in which it is said is very prosperous and crowded. Kevaddha invited the Buddha to the third time like this:
" Lord , I do not want to harass the Buddha . I only say: Lord Buddha, Nalanda this prestigious and prosperous, crowded people and devotion to the Exalted. Lord Buddha, good if the Religious teaches a bhikkhu modern legal personality, psychic transformation. Thanks to this, Nalanda will be honored by more people.
And the Buddha made clear to Kevaddha that:
"Hey, Kevaddha, there are three kinds of wisdom that I have witnessed and declared. What is three? That is to change miracle: a body appears many bodies, many bodies appear a body, appearance, transfiguration through the wall, through the wall, through the mountains, as passing through space, landslides arise, horizontal through the land as in the water, walking on the water is not sinking as on land, sitting cross-legged on nothing like birds (...). Meditate through the mind, say the mind, express the thought, express the reflection of other beings, of other people: "So is his will, this is the intention of He is, therefore, his heart. "
But the Buddha told the young man Kevaddha that he had rejected the two kinds of divine powers, for, according to the Buddha, "we see the danger of the miraculous transformation (as well as the mental concentration) ashamed and scared ... ".
And the Buddha only accepts divine teachings. And the Buddha told the young Kevaddha that spiritual education is like this: "Think like this, do not think like that; Be mindful of this, not like that; Get rid of this, prove and stay that thing " (19) .
It seems that most of the major religions of mankind today are preaching in view of this young Kevaddha, meaning using miracles or miracles to conquer mankind in his religion.
Reading the Old Testament as well as the New Testament, we see that the Lord Yahweh is like the Son of God, performing miracles. But the miracle is not to save people equitably, but to do miracles with a distinct mind, and the mind is more calculated.
"You do not follow other gods, gods of the people around you. For you, Yahweh your God, am in the midst of him a jealous God, the anger of his Lord Yahweh shall be blamed upon him, and he shall be cut off from the face of the earth " (20) .
Nevertheless, God's creation of heaven and humanity is still a myth so far, so his arrogant and jealousy of those who refuse to follow his religion is of course only a matter of course. only sugar. Yet that myth was blamed on the path of darkness by fleshly people in the name of his jealousy to shove a part of humanity (medieval Europe).
To this day mankind is still reminded by the grieving death of the Bruno philosopher, Bruno was burned alive in 1592, and then in 1633 the brilliant astronomer Galileo was sent to Rome to humiliate. But it is funny that we do not see the Lord God using miracles to burn Bruno or kidnap Galilee to Rome, but to see the earthly people in the name of God to create the so-called France (inquisition) to satisfy their small jealousy only.
Perhaps it is because of this that we are aware of the Buddha's teaching:
"I see the danger of the miraculous transformation that I am bored, ashamed and terrified."
The Easterners of China in general and China in particular are passionate about divinities, Journey to the West is a typical case. It is easy to understand because our body is so heavy and crude, so everyone dreams of one day flying off the gray ground. But perhaps there is another reason, that is because the Eastern ethical tradition teaches people to fight evil, but when evil is found to continue and almost everywhere, force, because the power is limited. Perhaps that is why all of them are fascinated with the fictional character Sun Wukong, because Sun Wukong uses the power of supernatural power to destroy the demons, the symbol of evil. On the contrary, all the demons who use supernatural powers to harm good people, the symbol of good,
Nevertheless, it is only a dream of everyday life when we feel helpless against the unjustifiable injustice of life. But being a disciple of the Enlightened One, we have to be thoroughly conscious that, to fly forever out of this suffering earth must be by will and energy, not by miracle or miracle, As the Buddha once stated,
"The swan only flew in the air, and the god of the air was flying out of the earth. Only the Great, eliminate the ghosts can fly from this world. "
And then on the way, the Buddha did not miss any opportunity, no matter how small, he would show his great love, knowing that love would endanger himself. which was weakened by his old age.
When the Buddha went to Pāvā, he stayed at the mango garden of the iron worker named Cunda. Taking this opportunity, Cunda had invited the Buddha and the Bhikkhus to come home the next day to eat the boys. The next day, the Buddha and the Bhikkhus arrived, as usual, the Buddha sitting at the prepared place. After sitting down, the Buddha said to the Cunda ironman, "Cunda, this ready-to-cook earplug just serves me. And other dishes, please prepare for them Bhikkhu.
Then the Buddha explained why he did not give the Bhikkhus eating this fine dish: "Cunda, the rustic dish left, you buried. I have not seen anyone in heaven or man, in the realm or Brahma, not one of the Humans and Brahman eat this ear mite can digest.
"After taking the rice of the Cunda ironman, the Buddha suffered a severe illness, almost to death. Then the Buddha sat calmly, patiently endured the disease.
In the last moments in Kusinara, despite being in pain, he was still worried. Later, Cunda would be misled by this misadventure about the last meal, so He told Ananda,
"Ananda, He would make the Cunda repentant, in words like this: "This sage Cunda, it is not good for you, it is harmful to you, because the Tathagata last meal from the donor must enter Nirvana ". And the Buddha told him that Ananda was obliged to dissipate the remorse of the Cunda ironman.
If the Buddha sat on the court to proclaim the world of suffering and the way to end suffering is seen as a great love for humanity, the Buddha stopped by the needle For a Taoist woman, or at the last minute, in spite of pain and suffering, thinking of the irony of the Cunda ironman must be considered a greater love. Because if He did not leave the court to reach the suffering of the most, His love is only considered a kind of love: "Grace" from the top down only.
Also in Pāvà, the home of the iron worker Cunda, the Buddha recounted an important experience from his own experience. We can see this as the beginning of the journey to end suffering.
At that time there Pukkusa, student of Taoist famous Alara Kalama is on the road from Kusinara to Pava saw Buddha sitting quietly under a tree, Pukkusa bowed and sat to one side white with Buddhist saying,
"Bach The Sun, it is wonderful, White Sun, is very rare, the calm state of a step home.
Then Pukkusa said that his teacher, Alāra Kalāma, was sitting at a lunch break under a tree not far from the main road. There were about 500 vehicles passing by, but Alāra Kalāma was sitting motionless, One man with the convoy found him and asked,
"Do you see 500 or so carriages passing by?"
Alàra Kalàma answered no.
So Sun is sleeping?
- I do not sleep.
Then he was awake.
Alàra Kalàma confirms that she is awake.
In response to the disciple of Alāra Kalāma, the Buddha asked Pukkusa,
"Pukkusa, what do you think? Something harder to do, something harder to do? One while the static, still wake up without seeing 500 chariots passing by near the side, nor heard. Or a person is still static, awake when it is raining, rainy, rushing, while electrocution lightning, thunder echoes, but do not see, not hear?
"Well," said the 500, "or 600, or 700, or 800, can not be compared." It is harder to do, more difficult to do, a person is still, still awake, while electrocution lightning, thunder echoes that neither see nor hear?
- This is Pukkusa, a time when I was at Atumà, at the threshing house. At the time it was raining, rainy, rainy, electric lightning flash, thunder echo. There were two brothers, and four bulls were struck by lightning. Pukkusa, a large number of people from Atumà came out to the two brothers and 4 bulls were struck by lightning.
- Pukkusa, at that moment I came out from the thimble and walked outside, in front of the threshing house. Pukkusa, one from where the crowd came out, came to me, bowed and stood aside. And I said to the person standing on that side:
- Hey sage, why are so many people gathered?
- Last night, it was raining, rainy, rainy, electric lightning flash, lightning thunder, two brothers farm and four bulls struck by lightning. So many people gathered here. Lord, where did you live?
- This gentleman, we are here.
- Lord, do not see anything?
- This sage, I do not see.
- Lord, did not you hear anything?
- This sage, I do not hear anything.
- Lord, are you sleeping, right?
"This gentleman is not sleeping.
- Lord, are you awake?
- This sage, yes.
- Lord, you are awake, but in the rain, rainy, rushing, electrocution lightning, thunder echoes, two brothers farmer and four bulls were struck by lightning, but He not see nor hear?
- This is so, sage.
- Pukkusa, he thought to himself: "What a miracle, it is so rare, the quiet of the monk, when awakened, despite heavy rain, rushing, electro-glare, thunder There were two brothers and four males who were struck by lightning and saw nothing but heard nothing. " After expressing the trust in Me, he bowed, the right side toward Me and farewell.
When it comes to this, Pukkusa, the family of Malla Buddha:
"Your Honor, my trust in Alāra Kalāma, now you spread it in front of the great wind, and now you drop into the stream of water. Wonderful, the Worldly Sun! Eh! Lord Buddha, as he stood up what was thrown down, exposed what is hidden, directions for the lost, bring light in the dark, so that those who have eyes can see the " (21) .
The Potthapada, also referred to as the Potthapada, is located at a shrine in Shambhala, called Ekaslaka, which is used to discuss right view and wrong view. Potthapada also noted to his disciples that "Satamma Gotama loves silence":
Potthapada, who was sitting at the pagan visit, was loudly moaning and loudly discussing frivolous matters such as the story of kings, the story of robbery, the story of the story of the soldiers, the story of the war, the story of the food, the story of the drink, the story of the garment, the story of the bed, the story of the wreath , the story of the fragrance, the story of the car, the story of the village, the story of the town, the story of the city, the story of the nationality, the story of women, sentences about the hero, the story of the roadside, the story of the place where the water was taken, the story of the dead, the sentences c district jokes, stories about the current state of the world, ocean currents,
Potthapada, the foreign minister, sees the Buddha from afar, urging him: "Do not make noise, let the sorcerers make no noise. Now Satama is coming, he loves silence, this gentleman praised the quiet. If we know that we are quiet, He can come here " (22) .
From the most humble issues such as: "The story of stealing, the story of food, the story of the beverage, the story of the woman, the story of the bed, the story of the car, the story on the roadside ... "to the noble questions of the philosophers and Taoists such as" The story of the state of the world, about existence and non-existence "are fully recorded here.
No doubt, for more than a century, people on this ground have only been discussing the matter.
With such futility, in vain, the Buddha warned those who live all their lives in arguments or quarrels:
"The other does not understand that" we are about to be destroyed " waste of argument over losing). If they understand that, then there is no debate. "
If Buddhism is also considered as a religion like Christianity, Islam, Judaism ... the Buddha's advice is unique. Because religion is often accompanied by a deterrent, a reward (heaven, hell, ...), but the Buddha, on the contrary, only presents a clear truth, that life is too short for each person. In us, we do not waste time on such useless debates.
What did the Buddha advise us to do to avoid the impending destruction?

Dhammapada said, Only those who would like to live alone in a place where they can attain will be able to taste the yeast, to be able to get away from all fear and bad karma:
"Who has ever tasted the monopoly, who ever tasted the president, he also liked the taste of the Pharisee, away from all the evil, fear.
And the mind of those who like solitude is like a lake deep, calm and pure:
"As a lake deep, quiet and clean. Those who have mind after hearing their minds are so calm and quiet. "
Read the history of the Buddha, we still remember, after spending six years searching for truth, has been ascetic, had squeezed the body so that only skin bones, had studied under the guidance of The most prominent Indian philosophers of that time, such as Alārama Kalama or Uddaka Rāapaputta, were acknowledged by the philosophers as their qualifications and experience. But the Buddha was not satisfied with what was achieved, for what he sought to end all the sufferings of human life was not satisfactorily answered.
In the midst of the deadlock, he remembered when he was a child in the morning following his father's visit to the feast. While his father, along with his court and his people, was enjoying the festival, he quietly sat down under a shade of trees, and after meditating, he witnessed the first Zen. Recalling that momentous moment, he decided to leave his fellow practitioners, using some rudimentary but necessary items for rehabilitation. Under the tree of Bodhi, He easily entered the Meditation (Jhàna) each Zen that He achieved during his childhood. And finally, he accomplished the ultimate insight, the complete cessation of all suffering, and the Buddha affirmed: "Rebirth has come to an end; complete, done what to do, no longer return to this state anymore.
Then the Buddha left the tree of Bodhi on the river of the Ni-lyshabha to return to the miserable world with the mission: "Stand up for what was thrown down, exposed what is hidden, directions for Those who go astray, bring light in the dark so that those who have eyes can see the color.
And though he is considered to be the most active and enthusiastic of the religious history of mankind. And yet he did not waste any time, according to Sandha, his disciples, whenever there is a chance: "The Buddha went to the wilderness, quietly quiet, no sound, where The wind blows through the grassland hiding, no one, where convenient for meditation contemplation. (Conversation).
Today thousands of splendid and splendid cities are springing up around the world. Urban sprawl to where of course heavy life on the enjoyment will go there. Therefore, the rivers, mountains or remote villages are deserted "where the wind whispering through the grass field hidden nobody" is no longer the place for people to relax watch the evil afternoon, People also have the opportunity to bend down to look at their own ephemeral status, but these are now only the rich or high authority to be eligible to come. Of course they came not to enjoy the beauty of nature but to enjoy the pleasures that urbanism provided them:
"How can we be happy, how can one become absorbed in pleasure? The flames burned up, the darkness was enveloping. Do not you want to find the light? "The
sentence on the Buddha was declared over 20 centuries ago, but does it really affect us so strongly?
Is not it because we are now day by day, dying in these overwhelming cities?
*
Han Mac Tu, considered as the most faithful and devout Catholic poet. But it is unexpected that Han Mac Tu once had to lead the Buddhist thought to explain his metaphysical realm:
"And I will explain in a very Buddhist way, as Sacred as No, Death as well as Live, Near as far and late as well as Truth ... The right thing to do anyway, there is close contact and sympathize with each other " (23) .
And the most important thing to me is that Han Mac Tu is a poet of early twentieth-century Vietnam with poems that advise people to drop three noisy flowers. According to Han Mac Tu in silence, the heart of a human being vibrates to a greater love:
Let silence do not say much
To listen to the bottom of the lake
To hear the vibrating silk in the wind
And to watch Interpretation of love ...
But sometimes poets feel overwhelmed by the love so vast and so great that:
While the mystery covers the night
There is something falling in the air
Falling down the air up the air The
echoes glow in the heart
But there is a time when that love is ambiguous but I have a very close feeling, that is Just around here:
In the village of smoked dreams, the
roof of the house is covered with gold sheets. The
wind is teasing the bikini
on the grotto - spring shade.
It may be a peaceful spring in a village. Very sunny sunshine of childhood was far? Or can it be a wild spring in the wild? Which in the late night or in the most mysterious hours in each of us at least once have felt?
But from a Buddhist point of view, whenever a person desires a desire, even a desire for spiritual beauty, he is still suffering for what he is longing for. that. Like Han Mac Tu confirmed:
I suffer from scary to infinite
Or:
Oh my! Too much in thought
An old lonely puddle of life.
For some reason, every time I read Han Mac Tu, I think of China Dong Sua.
Han Mac Tu of Vietnam only speaks of the suffering, the ultimate loneliness of a seeker of beauty, but Su Dongpo, the poet of China, expresses sincerely (of course). is full of pride) of his tragic failure in the search for the beauty of the infinite through the path of poetry:
The legend of the right hand
Distance to compose the imperial cypress
thien Thien Thai the
magic of the Masterpiece for
the forgiveness of the East Master has forgotten the words, the result is the Master has the Dao
I, in addition to find the phrase, complete full futile
Next year will be at Mount Tiantai picking pills to bridge director
, but still want to breathe than all the region Philosophy East (24)
Four-verse is taken from a poem that Su Dongpo did give to My dear friend is the Elderly Man.
Su Dong Phap and Han Mac Tu, though many centuries away, the world of poetry is very different. Both suffer but the suffering of each person is different. Su Dongpo suffering from all his life being exiled and imprisoned, once was nearly executed again. Han Mac Su was suffering from despair at the disease.
But there is one thing that Su Dongpo and Han Mac Su are similar, both of them, speaking in the words of Su Dongpo's poem, both are tormented by visionary horizons. which Tue Sy has translated as a death sentence.
So let's try to see Tong Dong Pha to throw poetry, throw away the horizon of the dream into the mountains to find what?
One day a stranger asked the Buddha:
"People often go to deep forest. The saints all life in virtue. Eat only once a day.
Why do they look so free? Please show him?
The Buddha replied:
" They do not mourn the past, do not quench thirst for what has not come, but focus only on the present. So they are free. "
Dong Dongpo and Han Mac Tu have not captured that eternal moment , so are they still suffering?
Undoubtedly, through many extraordinary battles with himself, must overcome many subtle, subtle temptations that the mind thinks to be true. But in fact, it is only a flower in the middle of nowhere, an illusion (including the illusion of beauty (Lao dream of dreams) of the poets), the Buddha used a very simple language. To assert the moment of peace of this eternal present in such a powerful way.
Perhaps today humanity has truly awakened and realizes that no one can save anyone. And there will not be a tomorrow, if today's present day man refuses to work to eliminate the evil and low in himself.END=NAM MO SAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.THE MIND OF ENLIGHTENMENT.VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=GOLDEN LOTUS MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.3/6/2018.
