Set Up Pure Land.

When our mind is gentle, relaxed and happy, the three paths of darkness are hell, hungry ghost and animal can not appear. Those dark paths can appear in us at any time if we lose our thoughts, concentration and insight.

Hell, hungry ghost, or animal are present in us in the form of dark seeds. If we do not have mindfulness, no cultivation, the three paths of evil can appear at any time. Whenever we get angry, hell fire burns us up. The hells that appear, the Pure Land disappears. This is very clear. The darkness that appears, the light is gone. The same is true. When hell goes away, the Pure Land represents. Within us there is the seed of the Pure Land, in us also the seed of the evil tam, the three paths of evil. If you want to have Pure Land, you can make Pure Land in the present. And if you want to have evil tam, you can also make hell, hungry ghosts and animals present in the present.What is hell, we know. Because we were in hell. "I used to cry under the A penchant for corrupt libido . " I was in hell so I know how hell is hot or cold.And when the material hell in us no longer appear, we have Pure Land. 

In the past I also used to be hungry  ghosts (ghosts). I used to be a hungry ghost running away this place to look for a little love, a little understanding, a shelter. The seeds of the hungry ghost are in my heart, but where. Whenever the tendency for her delicacies in the novels arise, hungry ghosts appear and become a hungry ghost. When we are thirsty, we become livestock. I became an animal, a pig, an ox, just eat, just chasing after sex ... If the Pure Land is gone in my life, it's because of the seeds of hell , hungry ghosts and animals are expressing in our words, actions and thoughts.

What is the highest wish of my life? I do not want to make large pagodas, do not want to make big statues, do not want to have large accounts in a bank, do not want to have a PhD. I do not want to be president of the Buddhist Association. I do not want to be a Patriarch, I do not want to be a Christian. I just want to build a Pure Land! Build the Pure Land to invite the lovely people to live together and make a refuge for each other. In our mind if there is Pure Land then we go to Pure Land is also displayed. Those who have Pure Land in mind are those with very high personal qualities. Those who have such qualities are called  " virtuous persons"  or virtuous ones. Because these people have minds beyond the fame. There is a benefactor who has a nice person. The Land of Bliss is the place where the nobles of humanity dwell so much: "The most up-to-date" . This is not a dream phrase but a prayer phrase, because the most exciting and exciting thing is to set up a colon so that the cute people in the world gather together to live together in a way. very happy and to rely on countless others.

Therefore, in our desires there are seeds of the Amitabha Buddha. That seed is the desire to establish a cute home, a favorable condition for study.There are many good people to live together, we naturally do not demand the Pure Land that the Pure Land is still showing. To sit near a nice person, how happy I feel. The lake is surrounded by so many cute people. Those cute people come together, but have not done anything but the scene was the Pure Land, right? Those who did not sit together for about fifteen minutes, the air was suffocating. Hell appears when the innocent crowd gathers to three or four hundred people. I will die suddenly.

Thus, the Pure Land and the Hell can be discovered from their hearts. So every practitioner has the interest and desire to form a Pure Land. Pure land, however, is not a person's work, even though it is a full-fledged. Pureness is the work of so many people, and these people are called  "personalities" .We see that the  Sukhavati  is not a person's work, even though it is the Amitabha Buddha.

So do not think as an individual you can create the Pure Land. We create the Pure Land by the Sangha. If we are not cute, not able to listen, not able to speak loving speech, do not know how to work collectively, if we are dictators, who is going to collaborate with us? Thus, how can we create the Pure Land? We have to ask ourselves whether we are the best Bodhisattva or not? In our hearts, everyone wants to set up a Pure Land Center. We tend to think that when we stand at the heart of the center, we will not be dependent on him, on that sister, on the other, and we will have total control.

The desire to master the Pure Land is an innocent desire. If I can not live happily with my brother, my sister and my brother, how can I set up the Pure Land? Those who come to me will leave me and I will be alone. And a lonely person would never set up the Pure Land. We just need to look around to see. It is not that he has no intention of setting up the Pure Land. Only in that person is not enough happiness, not enough tolerance, not enough ability to listen, not enough ability to say love speech, not have enough ability to work together; He just wants people to do what he wants. Such people are not able to establish the Pure Land, they are not the first Bodhisattva to be born.

Who can tell me that he was the most original Bodhisattva? We do not need anyone to say it. Just look at our mind, we know right away. From now on, whenever the public recite this sentence, please let the mind contemplative.Pure Land is a place of convergence of the virtuous ones. Pure Land is not the work of a personal hero.

" Those who lack the virtue and good health have little hope of being born in that world."  This can make us frustrated. But there are other sutras that make us excited again. As we only need to recite the Buddha once or ten times, we are qualified to produce the Pure Land. Should we believe in this sutra or believe in the sutra? Actually, if we understand this verse, we will understand these verses, and if we do not understand this verse we can not understand these verses. Two sentences are not against each other but complement each other. These two verses are two sides of the same reality. 

" Shariputra, those who lack the mercy and fresh root is little hope born in her realm"Good luck is the good fortune, goodness is the good root, in our hearts if the roots are rare, we have little hope of being born in that realm. There are times when we plant roots with seeds, sometimes we grow them with seeds, and we grow them with seeds, also grown with roots. By seeds or tubers, the lotus can be raised. Once upon a time, he had donated an orphan baby, made a donation to a monk, once had a hand to save a dying ants. utans. All these actions are sowing fresh root action. Or we've ever opened his mouth read "Namo Buddhayaa" . All these small gestures are the healthy plants that have been planted. This in the Lotus Sutra teaches: 

" Conspiracy to disperse the mind, enter the Middle Temple, Nam professors, Buddhists . 

Suppose a scatterbrained person enters the temple, or enters the tower, and then opens the mouth to recite a sentence  "Male Buddha,"  then that is a condition that can lead to that person's event. Later Buddha. Although it is a very small seed, a very small root, but that action has been planted in the mind, and how tomorrow it will also become the causal lead to go to religion and enlightenment. Most Nam Nam Buddha. Nam is the only  sentence "Namo Buddhayaa" only. Yet that seed will drive the other to the cause of the future Buddha. That is the good, the blessing. This statement says that people who are less healthy, less fortunate, have little hope of being born in the Pure Land. We know in Plum Village, there are those who come from faraway places, they come from Russia, they come from Norway, South Africa, while there are people living in Paris, just an hour is able to fly to, but throughout life there is no chance to step to Plum Village. Although they were near to the village, they did not know the presence of Plum Village, so they did not have the opportunity to attend:

" Faculties of celestial spheres correspond to the 
opposite of the opposite ."

Some people, even if thousands of miles away, can meet, but not sitting opposite each other can not meet. What is the difference between predestined and ungodly? The difference is not due to being away or away from the Pure Land, are we having conditions? I recently heard Thomas report:  "Until today, there were three thousand Swiss people to watch the film The Step of Mindfulness". This movie recounts my lecture tour in India in 1997. Why do not they go to another movie theater, but buy tickets to see this movie. Many people after watching the movie bought all my books for reading, and many have written to apply for the Plum Village retreat. Why do they do that, when they have not once gone to the temple? They only have the opportunity to go to the movies, see the teachers, the monks and listen to the dharma talk in the film, but the good seeds in them watered and when they go home, they want to study.
