The Deer Park, where the Buddha preached Zhuan Falun.

Samath (the Deer Park)  -  where the Buddha preached Zhuan Falun, about 10 km from the sacred city of Varanasi  - is a sacred place.

About 2,500 years ago, the Buddha chose this place to preach for the first time, after enlightening the Nirvana. Five disciples, his followers were amazed to see the glorious light of the Buddha, and he persuaded his disciples with the first sermon they gave them, now called the Falun Dafa . This has created a communication among the monks, to spread the teachings of the ascetic, all over the world.

Buddha Shakyamuni and his five disciples formed a monk plus the Presbyterian Dhamma of Barefoot City and his 54 friends.

The first passage in the note, "Buddham Sharanam Gachhami," was written for Deer Park.

"I take refuge in the direction of the Buddha,

I take refuge in the Wheel of Reason,

I take refuge in the direction of the monks "

The first three Triple Jewels have been placed here, and still the same never changes. Therefore, the pilgrims coming here after visiting Bodhgaya are trying to reach this sacred place even once in their lives. The Dhamekh Tower, with a height of up to 42m (including the ground up to 42m), contains the relics of the monks, which bear the distinctive features of Deer Park as it marks the "seat of the Buddha" when he preach.

Next to Dhamekh Tower, Deer Park also has monuments of Dharmajajikab Temple and Mulgandhakuti Shrine where Xuanzang Temple is about 61 meters high. It is said that the Buddha rested and meditated here when he was in Deer Park. King Ashoka (273-223 BC) became the Buddha after the Kalinga war also visited Deer Park. The polished stone pillars, called the Ashoka Pillar, are erected to commemorate the visits of people. The lion image placed on the top of today's tower is the symbol of India.
