Flower Mind. Forbearance is forbearing, forbearing, forbearing; Humiliation is humiliation, dishonor, shame. Patience is patient, suffering from humiliation, shame, labor, to the utmost. Patience is virtue contrary to temper, hatred.

Here, we should not confuse the word patience as people often understand in life.Patience in life is the endless patience, only outside, not inward, that is, in the face of injustice, an insult, the patience does not show any opposition in words. Say, in the gesture, but in their hearts still not resist the anger of resentment; That patience is not the patience of Buddhism.

So what is the nature of humiliation in Buddhism, please refer to the paragraph below.

Patience in Buddhism

Patience according to Buddhist doctrine must be composed of three parts: body ring, ring, ring. That is where the body is doomed to suffer without responding by gestures, revenge action; Where the mouth does not utter the words of cruelty, curse, and especially in the heart, it must also be down, crush the anger, the hatred, do not let it rise, up. If you do not get rid of the anger, resentment in the heart is not called the patience in the Buddhist sense.

Moreover, followers of the Dharma must endure to the degree that they do not see people humiliating, suffering, and suffering. The patience of this place is vast, without dividing the border, since it is derived from compassion, from the absolute wisdom and equality of the Buddha Nature. Therefore, the patient nature of patience, to achieve based on these three characteristics as the basis.

The power of patience

One of the catastrophes of the world is anger, hatred. It can be said not so exquisitely that anger burns half the life of humanity, half human merit, from the day of humanity to the present. So patience is a miracle cure to put out the fire of anger.

Personally, the patience makes the person around him feel good because of the gentle expression, because of his gentle words, because of the gentle gestures. Patience patient mind is wise, judicious right, do not make mistakes mistakes unfortunate lack of calm. The mind of the humble person is always peaceful, gentle, and because of these things, the patience of people can be accomplished in all work, in his life.

In terms of family, if everyone in the house patience, the family scene is always in harmony, love, warm. People often say: "Pros wife wife husband slapped east sea also exhausted." Lack of virtue of patience, harmony in the family can never be done. And not in harmony, the family becomes a little hell, which everybody wants to break out to escape.

On the social side, patience makes all unity possible, coexistence is good, war does not happen, peace is strengthened, the world becomes a place.

In terms of spirituality, as a testament to gold, as a furnace, it makes the practitioner always alert to premonitions. It obliges the practitioner to always apply compassion, light of wisdom, and equality of spirit to destroy anger and hatred. It gradually suppressed the self, the love and the destruction of the last of beings are the self. Therefore, the cultivator attests to being not selfless.

Shining resurrection Buddha Shakyamuni

Shakyamuni's tolerance in his quest for religion is a good example for us. From a prince who lives in a velvet bed, he becomes homeless, goes all the way to the other mountain, suffers cold heat, fasts his hunger, learns all, no fear of humiliation. , Ashamed to ask what he did not know. When practicing ascetic with Kieu Tran Nhu, seeing no results, he left them, returned to eat as usual and was derided by them, scorned; But he was still as calm, just a determination to study.

When he attained enlightenment, becoming a Jew, he was harassed by Devadatta many times, dropping the evil elephants, rolling rocks from the mountainside to his body, but not once he appeared angry. , angry. When he was hurt lightly in the feet of the stone of Devadatta roll down, the Buddha calmly told the disciples that: Devadatta is his intellectual goodness, thanks to His Holiness Devadatta Buddha . When the pagan conspiracy to send people to humiliate him in the mass, the Buddha quietly let him scolded. In the end, he only asks one sentence but the meaning is profound meaning, which we need to remember to take heart while practicing patience. He asked the other:

- When people give someone something they do not receive, then how do people?

- I brought back!

- Here too, I do not accept the humiliation of people. Take it home!

He knows the great benefit of humiliation, so before entering Nirvana, the Buddha instructed the disciples:

- If someone comes to cut his hands or feet, or cut his nose cut ears, etc. ... they also have to self-preserve, do not nail the idea of anger that obstruction of their Bodhi and do not utter words. Said cruel, which was burned by anger fire burning their merit of the forest ...

The Buddha also praised those who humbled with a beautiful saying as follows:

"The person who is going to stop the rage coming out, like stopping the car is running fast, so called to be good, but also a harness."

How do Buddhists nurture patience in their daily lives?

First of all, the nursing personality must remember this: not to be praised by the people, praise that ring, not because of fear of the power of others that we ring, not because of expectations. Is the title of the right to ring, not because of lazy, want to give up the hands before the life of injustice that we ring, not because of humiliation, lack of personality that we ring. If for the reason that I ring, then the ring is more dangerous than anger, because it is the effective hand of desire: greed, arrogance, cowardly, selfish ... I nurture patience It is for a great vow, a noble purpose, a great love, a wise mind. I endure because I want to cultivate virtue, want to counter anger, greed, selfishness, arrogance, ignorance.

The ring on the leaves of despicable rings, the new ring is the noble ring, in the sense of doctrine. The new ring is the ring we need to nourish every day. Although standing in front of a situation like, gestures we always gentle, courteous, words we always calm, calm, thought we always wise to separate because of where the scene That's why we should not be angry. We must always apply to love, a kind of nectar that can extinguish so many fires.

In life there are two reasons that make people angry more than others: greed and arrogance. Loss of, loss of name, insomnia ... should be born angry; Seeing that one commits an act of self-righteousness, self-sufficiency, self-sufficiency, self-interest, is born angry. Therefore, to nurture the patience, first must be on guard, always precaution against two bad nature. Be sober, do not be intimidated by them. They are very clever, lots of intrigue. Sometimes they borrow the voices of duty, honor, and common interests to make us angry with the enemy, sometimes they bury our ears in the night, sometimes they accuse us of our resentment. Being weak, cowardly, therefore, we must know clearly the form of these bad things, to be able to overcome them, to be able to perform patience effectively.

Whenever a resentment, boredom, resentment is about to rise, let's calmly read and reread the following verses:

"The ring, the ring, the ring, the donkey donkey injustice!

Many, many, most natural disaster of the pepper;

Wear, wear, wear, limitless fairy ever tried;

Retirement, retirement, retirement, the freedom of the job.

(Ring, ring, ring - ring, ring, ring - ring, the offspring of the offspring are cut off from the wire.) Fasting, fasting, fasting, Then the limitless fairy world is also there, Okay, well, only, the greatest names in the world can not do anything to me.

To do so, in every area, in all circumstances, in all time, the patience of the Buddha is available in the state of latent in us will be fully manifested.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMOUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.THE MIND OF ENLIGHTENMENT.VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=GOLDEN LOTUS MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.5/7/2017.
