Part  2

15th Lower 37th in Venuvana (year -553)

Devadatta would like to replace the Buddhist congregation leader [1]

One afternoon, Dr. Jivaka went to Mt. Griddhakuta to visit the Buddha. At the foot of the mountain, he met the new Buddha from Venuvana (Truc Lam). He greeted the Buddha and asked for permission to follow him up the mountain. Jivaka watched the Buddha climb the stone stairs to the mountain in his belly whisper: This year the Buddha was 71 years old but also hard sand hard too. The Buddha climbs uneasily and lavishly, with one hand holding the bowl, one holding the cross of sanghati. Venerable Ananda walking beside the Buddha also can not hold the bowl in place of the Buddha, because a teacher must also hold the bowl of the teacher and the other cross-shirt as the Buddha. Mr. Jivaka went up to ask for the bowl instead of Buddha. Buddha gave the bowl to him and smiled, saying:
Tathagata has climbed this mountain a thousand times, every time holding a bowl alone is not a star.
Stone stairs were built up to the Buddha's foot on the top of the hill. It was King Bimbisara who ordered the construction of several hundred stairs to offer. To where, the Buddha and he sat on a large stone floor. After questioning the Buddha about his health and the work of Dharma propagation in all places, Jivaka said:
Lord, I would like to briefly state the status of congregation here. I see the status of the congregation directly related to the political situation. I think the Blessed One should be informed clearly.
Jivaka then told the Buddha that the venerable Devadatta had the ambition of leading the congregation to replace the Buddha. Venerable Devadatta has a strong winged wing and a large crowd of mendicants and politicians. The right hand of Devadatta is that the Venerable Kokalika often presents many strategies, in addition to Venerable Kotamoraka Tissa, Venerable Khandadeviputta and Venerable Samuddadatta, who are widely supported by their followers.
Venerable Devadatta is very intelligent and eloquent, so he is well-behaved, in the mendicants as well as in lay people. The Venerable did not formally face the Buddha, but repeatedly remarked that the Buddha was older, no longer capable of leading the congregation more and more, and the way of running the Buddha was ancient, no longer liked. Fits with the youth and the new age.
On the social level, Venerable Devadatta was well supported by many rich people, many Sakya and upper class people. They disagreed with the Buddha and accepted the lower classes into the congregation. The most dedicated supporter of the monk was Prince Ajatasattu (A-So-do). King Bimbisara believes the Buddha how Prince Ajatasattu believes the Devadatta like. Prince Siddhartha built a large abode on Mount Gayasisa, where the Buddha once said the Prayers for three Uruvela Kassapa brothers and a thousand of his disciples. Prince Ajatasattu regularly transports the offerings to Mount Gayasisa. Many merchants and politicians who want to get the crown prince also immit that the monastery offers and hears the dharma. With that support, the prestige of the Venerable Devadatta is growing.
Speaking of this, Dr. Jivaka looked at Buddha and lowered his voice lowly:
Buddha, what you just said is not what is important. But as far as I know, it seems that Prince Ajatasattu and Venerable Devadatta, who are eager to take the throne and lead the congregation, are plotting to harm King Hsinchu and the Blessed One, the two most beloved children. in life. I wish the Buddha be careful and pay special attention to this.
Jivaka, thank you for letting the Tathagata know the current unstable situation. But do not worry too much. Tathagata will know the timing.
Dr. Jivaka reported from leaving. Buddha told Ananda teacher should not disclose this to anyone know.
The next ten days, during the monthly sermon at the Venuvana monastery, the Buddha preached on the Five Powers (Panca-balani) the five spiritual powers needed to nourish the fruit of enlightenment. Buddha said:
People who believe in the Dharma, want to bring into practice, need to know the dharma. What is the 37 helplessness? These are: Satipatthana [2] , Amendment required [3] , Sichuan as the residence [4] , five factors [5] , the five forces [6] , Interior Bodhi [7]  and the Eightfold Path [ 8] .
You know that the Five Foundations are the origin of the birth of the law, the effect of the growth of the law and remove defilements to bring the cultivator into the path. Personnel (Pancendriyani) include:  Credit units  (Sraddhendriya) is faith in the quarterfinals of substrate (size, set, kill, religion), where three security information (Buddha, Dharma and Sangha); Attack  (Viryendriya) is the courage to practice the law; Mindfulness  (Smirtindriya) mind is always thinking of the Dharma; Concentration units  (concentration) is the mind in Dharma; Hue (Prajnendriya) is in the starting mind, know the dhamma as truth (clear truth).
Once the Five Pitfalls have been developed to maturity, the Five Pitmasters will become the Five Powers (Panca-balani), the Five Power, the Five Trainers who transport the practitioner on the path of liberation, have the power to thrive. Good things and eradicate evil roots. The Five Powers are: Sraddha-bala means devotion to the Three Jewels; Force (Virya-bala) to practice French law, hard work except the evil law; Mindfulness (Smirti-bala) means always remember the impure body, the impermanence, the dharmas, life is suffering; Samadhi-bala (samadhi-bala) is a meditation practice to eliminate defilements caused by the six senses; Prajna-bala means that by virtue of meditation that arises wisdom, the five aggregates are not visible, the eighteen precepts are not, they are dissipated, they are completely liberated.
Today's lecture was attended by over three thousand people, including King Bimbisara. When the Buddha had just finished, people had no chance to ask questions they had not been fully understood, then Venerable Devadatta stood up, came before the Buddha, bowed respectfully and said:
Buddha, this year lifespan of Bhagavan was high, Bhagavan had poor health. The Buddha needs a restful rest to ease the pain in the final years of life. The Blessed One spent a great deal of effort in establishing the mendicant congregation and has continued to grow to this day. The congregation has become overwhelming and scattered in many countries separated, the work of congregational leadership has become too heavy for the Blessed One. Please let the retreat into a place to rest. I will ask for the name of the monk leader on behalf of the Buddha.
The Buddha looked at Devadatta and said:
Venerable Devadatta, thank you for worrying about Tathagata's health. But now the Tathagata is still strong enough to lead the mendicant congregation.
Venerable Devadatta turned to the masses. There are about 300 bhikkhus who stand up. The monk looked up to the Buddha, saying:
Lord, that is not your own. Many great virtues are here as well. Please do not be afraid. I realized that I was capable of leading the congregation so that the Buddha could be healed during his old age.
Come on, Devadatta, do not say it again. Among the great disciples of the Tathagata have many excellent and more worthy teachers than many Tathagatas have not given them the responsibility of leading the Congregation of the Sage, because it is the vow of the Tathagata, Tathagata to do hiding place. As long as the time comes, Tathagata will make a timely decision.
Blessed by the Buddha among the crowds, including King Bimbisara, Devadatta was embarrassed. His face was red. I went back to my seat, not saying a word.
The next day, on Mount Griddhakuta, Teacher Ananda confided to the Buddha:
Dear Brother, Brother Devadatta is an avid, again blessed by the Blessed Monk in front of the crowd, he will surely find a way to avenge. I think there will be serious divisions in the congregation. If you can see that I can talk privately with brother Devadatta to advise, please go.
Ananda, the Tathagata is the Devadatta in the middle of the crowd and in front of the king is Tathagata willing to show people that Devadatta is not important in the congregation, and the behavior and words. Of Devadatta alone, Devadatta alone is responsible, we do not have to bear that responsibility. Ananda, if you think you can advise Devadatta to recuperate, then you go try.
A few days later, Jivaka returned to Mt. Griddhakuta to visit the Buddha. He told the Buddha that, as he was known, Devadatta apparently was planning to separate from the congregation with the support of Prince Ajatasattu.

Devadatta established his own congregation at Gayasisa. [9]

Exit that came to the Buddha's sermon on the monthly Venuvana. Every day the masses to listen to is very crowded. This year also included King Bimbisara and Prince Ajatasattu. Venerable Ananda noticed that the mendicants in the surrounding area sprung up the previous couple. Venerable Devadatta was also at the forefront of the mendicants, between the two Venerables Sariputta and Mahakassapa.
As before, after the Buddha's sermon was finished, Venerable Devadatta stood up, came to the Buddha in front of his hands and said:
The Blessed One, who taught the novices to live according to the principles of sexuality and nurture, abandoned the desire, lived simply with the minimum material conditions. Today I would like to propose a five point regulation to implement the principle of less desires and know enough:
First, masters have to spend the rest of their lives in the forest or in the orchard, not sleeping in the city or in the village.
Second point, the mendicants have to beg for a lifetime, not to be invited by lay people to meet the boys in their homes.
The third point, the mendicants only have the right to collect rags or rags to bind to y and not receive by the laymen.
The fourth point, the mendicant only sleep under the tree, not sleep in the room, am, lovelorn.
At the fifth point, the mendicants are only allowed to fast, not to touch meat or fish.
Dear Lord, if the mendicant congregation in accordance with these five points, then surely the principles of sexuality and new material are strictly implemented.
Devadatta, the Tathagata does not accept the obligation to follow the five points, because those five points limit the opportunities for people to contact the mendicant to learn about the Dharma. Those who wish to follow those five points are followed, but others are not obliged to follow. As with the vegetarian diet, the mendicants may temporarily accept the offerings that the Vietnamese have prepared, including the humiliation, [10] not to the saints Killing Devadatta, according to the present legislation, has many opportunities to contact and guide laypeople, especially newcomers who have firsthand contact with enlightened enlightened beings.
So the Blessed One does not accept my five point legislation?
No, Devadatta, the Tathagata does not accept the five points of the teacher's proposal.
Devadatta bowed to the Buddha and returned to his seat, smiling, no expression of disappointment.
Later, people noticed that at the ceremony of bodhisattva recitations every half months at the Venuvana mansion absent about 300 mendicants. Everyone knows that they are attending a baptismal ceremony at the Gayasisa congregation held by the Vicar of Devadatta. After the ceremony, some mendicants asked to meet Buddha and said:
The Blessed One, the brothers follow the Venerable Devadatta told us should follow the congregation of the Venerable Devadatta leader at the Gayasisa seminary, because the law is much more serious law enforcement of the Exalted, thanks to apply Radical five-point legislation proposed by the Venerable Devadatta. They say as if Venuvana (Truc Lam) is too happy, there is no difference between people. The young mendicants, especially the devotees of the Vajji monastery Devadatta, went to Gayasisa. Please teach us how to treat the brothers there?
Teachers, Buddha said, teachers do not bother too much about this. Everyone has the freedom to follow the teacher they trust and respect. It is important that you understand the teachings of the Tathagata. There is no doubt or understanding, should learn thoroughly, then you must diligently practice meditation and live a good life according to their ability.
A few days later, Jivaka visited the Buddha on Mt. Griddhakuta. He said that over 500 monks had gone to the Venerable Devadatta at Mount Gayasisa (Statue of God). At the same time, Venerable Devadatta and Prince Ajatasattu were quietly campaigning for a major political move to bring the crown prince to the throne. In his opinion, the Buddha should be careful and take the necessary measures to avoid the scandal of Devadatta and Ajatasattu's mischief.
Venerable Devadatta established his own congregation in Gayasisa, shocking the Rajagriha capital and neighboring countries. The alms mourners are often asked by the people of the congregation. Venerable Sariputta instructed the monks to reply only as follows: "Whoever sows evil will reap bad fruits." Divide the congregation into a sin of the law. One day, after the sermon of the Buddha, a mendicant asked:
The Blessed One, everyday we go begging, we are often asked about the actions and statements of the Venerable Devadatta criticize the Sun, we do not know how to respond to the situation, from carrying Divide the congregation. Blessed Sun just teach.
The teacher should say that Devadatta has separated himself from the congregation, no longer hold a position in the Tathagata of the Tathagata. Devadatta is fully responsible for his statements and actions. Teachers should inform the public of this.
Supreme Lord, Venerable Sariputta asked, in the past I have praised the virtues of brother Devadatta in front of people, now when someone asked about the actions and statements of the brother, Point out the bad points.
Sariputta, the old virtuous praise of Devadatta, do you say the truth?
 Lord, I told the truth.
Now, if you point out the bad points of Devadatta, do you tell the truth?
- Well  , I just tell the truth only.
 Then there is no obstacle.
The following days, during public contact, mendicants informed everyone that Venerable Devadatta had left the congregation, and that the Buddha and the congregation were no longer responsible for their actions. And the statement of Venerable Devadatta again. Meanwhile, the two Venerable Sariputta and Moggallana remained silent. Venerable Ananda asked:
Brothers do not say anything, sure brothers were deliberate?
Yes, Ananda, we have deliberately served the Blessed One and the congregation with other means.

Thai Crown Prince Ajatasattu [11]

One morning, in the gloomy wind of the capital, Rajagriha (Kingdom of Rajasthan) is believed king resigned Bimbisara, ceded the throne to Prince Ajatasattu (Thiên-Kiến, A-So-To). The prince's coronation will be held within ten days, on the next full moon day. This sudden source of information shocked everyone that there was something going on in the palace.
A few days later, Jivaka went to Mount Griddhakuta to visit Buddha. He would like to speak with him privately. Jivaka told the Buddha that one week ago, the Musketeers saw Prince Siddhartha enter the king's palace in the middle of the night. Seeing the suspicious gesture, they checked and found a sword in the Prince's shirt. They took the prince to meet the king, presented the king with the sword and narrated the narrative. The king asked:
Ajatasattu, at night you bring the sword into the palace for what?
King, I want to work on sub-king.
Why do you want to kill me?
King, I want to be King.
If you want to be king, just tell me a word I will yield to the throne. Why kill father for sin?
King, I do not know that. I was wrong, please pardon my son.
Okay. But who's motivating me to do this? Can you do it yourself?
Prince Ajatasattu was silent. The king asked for a moment, the Prince revealed that the cooperation of Venerable Devadatta.
The king called two of his loyal servants into the palace at midnight. The king told them all to hear and ask for their opinion. One suggestion should be to deal with Ajatasattu, Devadatta and all the people involved in the case to eliminate the post. One suggestion should consult the Buddha is the enlightened enlightened, moreover in this case there is Devadatta, son of King Suppabuddha (noble-king) Koliya, both his sister and a disciple of the Buddha. King Bimbisara thought for a moment and said,
I have long wanted to abdicate to follow the Buddha. Now it must be time. Okay. Tomorrow I will give the throne to Prince Ajatasattu. Ten days later, on the full moon day, will crown the Prince.
 Your Majesty, murder?
I forgive my daughter and to Venerable Devadatta. I hope that these two people, when satisfied, will see my tolerant heart, and will be gentle towards the people.
Then he let the Prince go in to announce the king's decision, and told people not to reveal this assassination to outsiders.
But three days later, Prince Ajatasattu ordered Bimbisara to be kept in the forbidden room, with no one allowed to visit, except for Videhi. The two loyal deities of the king were also imprisoned. The two families were informed that the two of them were sleeping and sleeping in the palace to discuss the matter within seven days.
Dr. Jivaka tells the Buddha that these are completely kept secret. The reason he is known is because he was called to heal Videhi Queen. The queen told him about him and told him to go up to the mountain with the truth. Dr. Jivaka continued:
Buddha, I hope that after the coronation, Ajatasattu will be released back to the ruler and two courtiers.
Finished everything, Jivaka bowed to the Buddha and down the mountain.
The Buddha called the Venerable Sariputta, said:
Sariputta, the Tathagata will not attend the coronation of King Ajatasattu, and Tathagata expects that all the monks of the congregation should not attend the ceremony. We should not be involved in this evil.
Buddha, you see. I will inform the public that the Blessed One will not attend the coronation ceremony and the Blessed One wishes the monks in the congregation not to attend the ceremony.
Coronation Day has arrived. Not seeing the Buddha and the monks in the congregation led by the leader, people began to question themselves. Then find out the truth, knowing that the king and the two great spirits are still in solitary confinement and starving. People also saw the full presence of the congregation led by Venerable Devadatta. They notice the difference between the two congregations.A silent opposition against the new king and the independent church was discovered.
King Ajatasattu was reported on the silent protest movement among the people, summoned the Venerable Devadatta to the palace.

Ajatasattu and Devadatta plot to assassinate Buddha [12]

One day, in the middle of the night, while the Buddha was meditating on Mt. Griddhakuta, suddenly heard a slight sound after a large rock, Buddha said:
Someone? What are you doing here at this hour? There is something to talk about here.
A muscular young man with a sword, but shyly hesitant, stepped forward in front of the Buddha and knelt and bowed down and said,
Master, I was ordered to kill you." But I dare not. May the Master forgive my son. But if I do not kill you, I will not dare return because you will be killed by the prime minister. Master, I'm scared, what do you do now?
Who sent you to kill Tathagata?
Yes, my son. But I did not dare to say your name.
I did not say that. But your boss told him how?
Master, my master," he pointed to the path up the mountain to kill the master while he was meditating in the middle of the night. All right then I have to go another way to return to report to the prime minister.
- Do you  have any wife or children?
No, I only have an old mother.
Please listen. Listen carefully and do as the Tathagata says will avoid death. Go home immediately, take his mother crossed the border to escape to Kosala immediately. But he did not go down the mountain the way his master had instructed, otherwise he would be killed. You have to go down the mountain with another way away from that road. Well, let's go.
The young man began to get up and leave the sword on the stone.
After that defeat, Devadatta hired 31 assailants to ambush the Buddha. But when the Buddha passed by with serene, calm, posture they are all submissive, stepped into confession and asked to be ordained. [13]

King Bimbisara was starved of prison

Early the following morning, the two Venerables Sariputta and Moggallana came to the White Buddha:
"Well  , we thought it was time for us to go to Gayasisa to guide the brothers down the wrong path. We ask the Blessed One for us to leave for a while.
The teacher wants to go, just go. But be careful to preserve your life.
Venerable Moggallana suddenly saw the sword on the stone, promptly asked:
- Well  , what happened here?
Someone was planning to assassinate Tathagata, but Tathagatus has him.
Devadatta is determined to harm the Exalted One, we ask the Exalted One to be careful.
No problem, you go to safety. Tathagata knows how to handle time.
Two major disciples pay homage to Buddha and down the mountain.
The next day, the Buddha and the Venerable Ananda were invited by Jivaka to his home in the mango orchard for a meal. At noon, when the Buddha and Venerable Ananda just finished sonic life, Jivaka physician announced that the queen Videhi visited. The Buddha knew that Jivaka himself arranged for the queen to meet the Buddha. Empress Dowager came to pay homage to Buddha, sat sobbing. Everyone was silent. A moment later, the Buddha asked:
 Something please say queen.
Lord, Sun status is very dangerous. Ajatasattu decided to starve to death. It did not allow me to bring food into the detention center for the king.
Then she told me that in the first few days she was carrying food for the king. But after the coronation, the guard told the king not to give anyone food, including the queen. Since then, every visit, she secretly hid some rice in the hair for the royal food. But for a week, the guards searched it carefully, caught some of the meat hidden in the hair. They apologized to her for having been ordered by the king to examine her thoroughly; The king said he had fasted for a week and did not see the devil losing his power. That way, too, she thought of ways: before visiting the king, she washed clean, then plastered a layer of roasted honey before dressing. But it was only a few days after the plot was revealed, and she was forbidden to visit the king again. Here she sobbed and said:
Buddha, human suffering too. Surely the king can not live for a few more days. In the cell, the monarch once stood up to look at Mount Griddhakuta through a small window with bars, looking forward to seeing the Buddha. After abdication, the emperor was eager to be ordained according to the Blessed One. Although imprisoned, the supreme figure is calm, forgiving the child. I cried a lot with the king. I told the emperor that I was determined to pray for the next birth, and that the emperor was born where there are no unruly children .... I am so distressed, please pray to the Blessed One.
Master, do not be so miserable. Every thing has its causes and consequences. This happened because in the past, while praying for a son to follow, the king went up to the mountain to meet a Taoist meditator meditation to ask the Taoist help. The other priest said that he would have to wait twenty years, when the priest who had fulfilled part of his life would be the high priest. The royal monk is told that the Taoist must commit to keep his promise to be his son after the network. But then the king was anxious to have children soon to send people up the mountain to kill the Taoist while sitting in meditation. The monk was reborn as Ajatasattu as pledged and demanded a blood debt.
Buddha, yes. Unfortunately, when I was pregnant with Ajatasattu I was biting down on the hands of the high priest to suck up blood. You must try to resist that craving. One day, the king took the knife cut fruit fell off, the eldest hand to put the elders in the mouth, sucking blood drunk. I feel embarrassed and abhorred children. I let go of the upper hand, sobbing. The king asked why I cried.I'm serious. The king is astonished, comforted me, then called astrologers to ask. Astrologers say the child in the belly will later harm the king. I was so sad, one time I rubbed my abdomen with a strong abdomen for abortion, but eventually I did not have any results. When Ajatasattu was three years old, he played with knives to claim the king. The frightened king rushes him down the stairs but only breaks one finger. But I can not bear the fact that a child treats his parents so badly. May the Blessed One show me where there are no unruly children so that I can pray for rebirth in that place.
The Buddha sat seriously, spreading all over the world to observe, and said [14] :
In the West is the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha, where they are all from the lotus flower, the mind is full of gentleness. Whoever wishes to be born in that realm must keep the precepts of the pure mind and body, and even form the name of the Buddha Amitabha, until the end of his life. But in that realm all beings are male, no female. If the queen was determined to give birth to the Pure Land, then should eat vegetarian, every day should wash the shampoo and then recite Amitabha Buddha's name and prayers, especially when dying. Heart remembered him.
Empress Videhi heard the Buddha taught only, the life of worship, pay homage to the Buddha and return to the palace. The Buddha and Venerable Ananda also retired from Jivaka, back to Mount Griddhakuta.

Sariputta and Moggallana come to Gayasisa. [15]

After leaving the Buddha on Mount Griddhakuta, the two Venerables Sariputta and Moggallana return to the Venuvana mansion and arrange some work and go to Mount Gayasisa. They came to the place where Venerable Devadatta was lecturing. Venerable Devadatta saw the Venerable Sariputta and the Moggallana Venerable, very happy, inviting the two of them to sit together in the courthouse. But they refused, only to be sitting with the other virtues in the audience. After finishing the Dharma talk, Venerable Devadata said:
Today, two Venerable Sariputta and Moggallana come to us. This is great news for the Gayasisa Church. Two Venerables were our two very close friends and the great mendicants. So I would like to leave two seniors Sariputta and Moggallana to continue today's sermon.
With that said, Devadatta stood up, pointing at where Sariputta and Moggallana were sitting. Two monks stood up. A burst of applause. Venerable Sariputta went to the court to talk about the Four Noble Truths, and he spoke very good and interesting about the sufferings of life, the profound causes of suffering, the true happiness of holy life, and about How to eradicate suffering root He emphasized the methods of real world, wisdom, wisdom to avoid suffering. Most listeners are happy to listen and enjoy life. Devadatta alone seems tired, sitting nodded.
Sariputta and Moggallana stayed at Gayasisa for more than a month, participating in all congregational activities. Every three days, Venerable Sariputta teaches and teaches to the sages. Every day, the Moggallana Venerable explains more about the practical and the difficult parts of the doctrine. The masters here have seen the two teachers are respected and respected elder. But Kokalika, Devadatta's trusty assistant, advises Devadatta not to trust the two teachers. Devadatta disagreed, but it was interesting to see the person in charge of teaching the mendicants instead.
One day, after the Sermon on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, Venerable Sariputta said to the mendicants:
Brothers, this afternoon I and Brother Moggallana will leave the fraternities. We must return to the Buddha and the congregation led by him. Dear brothers and sisters, we have only one enlightened being in this world. That is the Buddha Sakyamuni. It was he who had been under the Bodhi tree for 37 years. It was he who founded the nuns' congregation with all three of the Three Jewels in Isipatana, near Benares. This of brotherhood, divided the congregation was a serious crime [16] . Brothers should return to repentance with the Buddha. We believe that with your great compassion we will be reappeared. To me, only the Sakyamuni was the true master of all of us. Two brothers I greet the brothers.
After saying these words, the two Venerable Masters retired from the mass and silently returned to Venuvana. That day Devadatta was busy working on Rajagriha. Kokalika stood up and protested, but no one reacted.
Two Venerable Sariputta and Moggallana arrived in Venuvana on the following day, with 385 mendicants from Gayasisa. According to the instructions of the Buddha, the two Sariputta and Moggallana monks instructed their ritualists to commemorate the mass of the penitents beforehand, and led them up to Mount Griddhakuta to pay homage to the Buddha. The Buddha teaches the masters of Hyacinth and advises them to thoroughly respect and practice the Six Gorges in the mendicant congregation, and diligently study under the guidance of the Venerable Masters.
One week later, 35 more mendicants from Gayasisa returned to Venuvana. Venerable Sariputta also gave them the masses of penitence in front of the masses, and then took them to Mount Vulture to submit to the Buddha. Venerable Ananda asked the 35 bhikkhus for the situation at Gayasisa. One of the seniors replied:
When Venerable Devadatta from Rajagriha returned to Gayasisa, almost four hundred monks followed the two Venerable Sariputta and Moggallana to Venuvana. But he just blundered that some people left to gratitude to the teacher and do not know where to break more strictly, then he silent. Two days later he returned to the capital to meet King Ajatasattu. Meanwhile, Venerable Kokalika went on to curse those who had left, leaving the rest of the people uncomfortable.
Do not know what the brothers Sariputta and Moggallana have said to the fraternity that the fraternity to leave Devadatta return to the Buddhist like?
- The  two brothers did not say anything to Devadatta. Both teachers just lecture and teaching us very well. Most of them were only two and three years old, so they were immature in doctrine and practice. To be taught by two teachers within a month that you feel a lot of progress and understand some of the noble teachings of the Buddha, and know that the Buddha is the only Great Awakening Now in this world, he himself established the first mendicant congregation in Isipatana with the three pilgrims. So many brothers decided to return to the Buddha.
 What about the monk Kokalika?
Venerable Kokalika saw that the brothers left angry, cursed the two brothers worse [17]  and charged the Venerable Devadatta not see far, too trust the two brothers should be deceived.

Devadatta rolls out the Buddha [18]

One afternoon, while the Buddha was walking down the mountain, from east to west, on Bimbisara Road, on the slopes of Griddhakuta Mountain, to the narrow, rocky side, Devadatta stood on the steep sloping south slope. A big rock. The Buddha was walking on a narrow road between two steep slopes, unable to avoid a large, large, rolling stone from above. But when the rock rolls down to the middle of the steep slope, it touches between two other rocks, splashing out into many fragments.Only a piece of splash hit the Buddha's feet and bleed the sangha's hem. The Buddhist mendicants must be carried down the mountain foot-Thuu Spirit, so that he is staying at the house Mardakukshi[19]  (Pali: Maddakuchchi). The Buddha told the mendicants to take him to Jivaka's mango garden nearby. Arrived, Jivaka physician disinfection, hemostatic drugs, Then wound the wound to the Buddha. Finished down, he said:
Well  , I have a patient waiting for you in Rajagriha. After visiting this patient, I will return immediately. While waiting, the Blessed One rested and did not touch the wound.
But after visiting the patient, the city gate was pile up. Mr. Jivaka coal:
If we do not come back to remove the tape, the wound tonight will make the Exalted painful!
Meanwhile the Buddha told the Venerable Ananda:
Ananda, Jivaka late, the city gate has closed, can not pass. He thought it was time to remove the bandage. So remove the bandage.
Venerable Ananda removed the bandage and saw the wound healed. The monk asked:
- How do you  , Mr. Devadatta do such cruel things will be subject to karma like?
Ananda, five crimes (contingent negative) after the public network to fall into the endless hell.It is: Kill father, kill mother, kill Arahants, break the union and increase the Buddha body blood. It is the year of evil kamma that leads to continuous suffering in the abyss of Avici until the new out of work.
Early the next morning, Jivaka returned to the bed and asked the Buddha,
Lord, did the wound hurt the Sun last night?
Jivaka, all suffering is completely over for the Tathagata.
Then the Buddha said shelves:
He has lived fully, no longer sad.
He has freed himself from the world,
Nothing is entangled, there is suffering. (The Dhammapada, Lesson 90)

Prince Abhaya questioned the Buddha [20]

One day Prince Abhaya listened to the excommunicator Nigantha Nataputta, who asked the Buddha to come to his house and offered to answer the difficult question: Gotama has never said unpleasant words to others. No If the Buddha answered Yes, the Buddha was no ordinary man; If the Buddha answered No, then lie because the Buddha said Devadatta will be punished in the Inuit Hell in a lifetime, unavoidable?
The next day, the Buddha came to finish the meal, Prince Abhaya asked:
Gotama Satan, have you ever uttered uncomfortable words to make people unhappy?
Depending on the case. But why did the prince ask Tathagata that?
Dear recluse Gotama, in fact, that is the question of guru Nataputta. If he answered yes then he is no ordinary man; If he did not answer then he lied because he had told Devadatta to go down to the abyss of Hell.
Abhaya, if the baby is sitting in the heart of a prince now swallowing a piece of wood or a pebble neck, what will the prince do?
I will take that. If it is difficult, my left hand will overturn its head, and then use the thumb of the hook to make it painful and bleeding. Why? Because I love it, want to save it.
Also, this Abhaya, Tathagata is never untruthful, uttering in vain, saying nasty words hurt others; Never to say the truth in vain, offensive, hurt others; Never to say the truth, say useless words to please others; Nor can it ever be true to say the truth in vain to please others; Tathagata just say the words are true and beneficial to the listener, whether to make fun of others or not.

Devadatta throws the elephant intoxicated with the Buddha [21]

One day, the Buddha and a number of solemnly departed monks went from Venuvana (Truc Lam) to Rajagriha (Rajagriha) to beg for alms. When they arrived at the northern gate, they suddenly heard the screams of their people, scattered. An enormous elephant from the royal elephant cage opens up, brings the hose up, the tail and the ears are upright, the mouth is wide, running straight toward the city gate. It was the elephant Nalagiri, the most famous of the king. He ran up and down, the foam rising, his eyes as bloody as crazy. Seeing the situation too dangerous, some mendicants rushed to find shelter on both sides of the road, some sheltered behind the Buddha. Venerable Ananda held the Buddha's hand to one side, but the Buddha stood still. Ananda stepped up to stand in front of the Buddha, suddenly heard the Buddha howled a loud and long. Resounding howls, dignified, majestic. This is the howling of the elephant god in the Rakkhita forest near the city of Parileyyaka. The Buddha settled here alone on the 10th, and he learned the howling of the elephant god, calling the elephants to gather at the stream. The Nalagiri elephant came only ten feet away from the Buddha, suddenly heard the loud howls, it stopped listening, the face from the ferocious to gentle, then obediently lie down to the ground. The Buddha approached, touching his head with all his great compassion. Then he grabbed the elephant's trunk, slowly leading the elephant back to the barn in the cheering of the people on both sides of the road. The mouth of the elephant has a strong smell of alcohol.
When he came to the elephant cage, Lord Buddha sternly looked at the elephant keeper, and in his calm voice said:
This Nalagiri elephant is abnormally aggressive, he must be careful not to let him go to a road that harms the lives of people.
Lord Buddha, revered elephant curate and said, I dare not miss so. Early in the morning, Mr. Devadatta came to tell the tide to meet the king in need, and he will hold the elephant until the child returns. Do not be shy when you just arrived where the incident occurred. May the Lord forgive me.
In just a few days, the Buddha was murdered three or four times in two weeks spread throughout the capital. The masses of people are more dazed, frightened, or scared to believe that Bimbisara died.Someone knew he had died tragically in prison. King Bimbisara, at the age of 66, is five years his junior. Year of refuge as a disciple of the Buddha, he was 31 years old. He entered the throne at the age of 15, he reigned for 51 years. During the 51 years that Magadha has always been peaceful, the people settled down. Except for a single war with the kingdom of Anga. In that war King Anghel Brahmadatta lost the battle, and Anga was dependent on Magadha. When King Taxila Pukkusati came to power in Anga, King Bimbisara established friendly relations with the king and brought him to Buddhism. In order to have lasting peace, He became acquainted with his neighbors, marrying Kosala's Pasenadi saint Videhi as chief minister, second from the rulers of Madra and Licchavi. Sister Bimbisara's eldest daughter Mallika was also given to King Pasenadi as Queen of Kosala.
King Bimbisara paid homage to the Buddha by making a path from foot to top of Mount Griddhakuta to ease the Buddha, and built a stupa of Buddha's hair and nails in the royal garden, Low and low candle lights around the tower to make offerings.
On the day of the Bimbisara tea ceremony, the Buddha himself went to the ceremony, and told all the monks in the congregation to go. The cremation ceremony is held solemnly. The peoples regret their virtuous king came to attend so many.
On the way home, the Buddha visit the mango garden of Jivaka. He told the Buddha that after Queen Videhi was prohibited from visiting the king, he died in prison, next to no relatives. He always looked up to the summit of the Spirit Mountain (Griddhakuta) looking forward to seeing the silhouette of the Buddha.
One day, Dr. Jivaka took Abhaya, the son of King Bimbisara and Padumavati, to Mount Griddhakuta and presented himself to the Buddha. Abhaya asked to be ordained. He no longer earnestly look forward to life style reputation. Having heard the Buddha sermon several times, he is very fond of liberation and the desire to live the life of the carefree, unhappy mendicant. The Buddha accepted Abhaya's ordination.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMOUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.THE MIND OF ENLIGHTENMENT.VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=GOLDEN LOTUS MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.29/6/2017.
