 What is Hygiene Glass?

Study the glass to harmonize peacefully.
After the enlightenment of the Buddha, he began to practice the teachings everywhere, bringing practical knowledge of a  life of liberation  - joy and happiness - to teach everyone. Many people, after realizing what he taught, decided to leave secular life to concentrate on practicing a peaceful life called the renunciation. The monks come together to help each other in the practice and formation of the first Sangha on earth.
But monks, after all, are only those who have just given up secular life. Regardless of the determination to live a virtuous life, they are unable to stop the bad habits that have long since existed. Therefore, it is certain that they also brought into the sangha some old habits. During the practice, when not fully achieved liberation, the bad habits of each person will certainly create the collision, inevitable conflict in the Sangha.
The Buddha was fully aware of that reality, and he never asked the monks to immediately attain holiness or attain ultimate liberation. Hence, he taught the methods of maintaining a harmonious life in the Sangha, creating conditions for a life of liberation. It is these methods that are the golden mold for all those who left the Buddha during the Buddha's time, as well as later, to create a harmonious fervor in their collective, wherever they may be.
These methods are documented by many sutras into a specific system called Glass Hygiene, which means six methods of harmony and mutual respect. All monks must memorize and follow these six principles of principle, and this will ensure that the common life in the Sangha is always in harmony and respect. together.
According to the Book of the Family, Book 5, the glass is listed with the name and the basic meaning as follows:
The first is the harmonic, that is, harmony, living together. This principle emphasizes the similarity between people in the same group, and only harmony can be achieved through living together. In other words, if we avoid others as a means of resolving disagreements, the disagreement is in fact not solved.
Only when we boldly face disagreements and work together to overcome it, harmony is truly achieved. By following this principle, people in the same group will live together, always caring for each other, together overcome all disadvantages, together overcome all difficulties in life. Everyone is respectful of the collective, including ourselves and others, so every target is for the collective and not for the individual.
The second is harmonious, non-conflict, meaning harmony, not controversial. This principle highlights the power of speech in maintaining harmony among people. As a proverb:
Words do not take money to buy,
Choose words that say goodbye.
To choose a word is not to say that it is false or misleading but to try to choose a way of expressing the problem so that it does not hurt others in a way. unnecessary. It also means to be silent at the right time so that you do not speak out words that may hurt or annoy the other person.
In addition, choosing words also means trying to say words that encourage good, keep evil. To follow this principle means to be vigilant in the use of words, to the extent that it is possible to always choose mild, peaceful expressions instead of tensions. And above all, to avoid controversy. Here it is important to distinguish between the arguments to clarify the problem completely differently from the argument that is just to prove the correctness of oneself.
Third is harmony, co-operation, meaning harmony, work together, serve together. This principle emphasizes the determinant of mind as the prerequisite of all things, as in No. 1 of the Dhammapada teaches that:
Italy leads the French,
Italian Italian.
If with the mind of pollution,
Say or action,
Brainwaves followed,
Like a car, legs pull.
Therefore, first of all there must be harmony of mind then can work together, together to serve in harmony. By following this principle, everyone in a team must have " unanimous consensus ", always towards common standards as well as a common ideal, and on that basis, Work, serve one another.
Fourth, harmony, fellow initiation, that is, harmony in the precepts, practice together. This principle emphasizes the similarity among people in keeping with the precepts, that is, the general dimensions of those who have lived the ordained life. Based on the precepts, people can cultivate together and lead a better and happier life through their own cultivation efforts.
Each person may still have disagreements with others, but once decided to enter the Sangha, the common point is the precepts, no one can differ on this point. Therefore, everyone must work together in accordance with precepts throughout the practice.
Fifth is mediation, co-resolution, meaning that the place to know each other harmony, together to understand together to learn together. This principle emphasizes  the sharing of knowledge , mutual support for mutual progress in practice, non-discrimination or the aim of mutual understanding.
Friday is the harmony, the army, that is, harmony in the benefits, divided equally, to see each other equality is not better. This principle emphasizes the equal sharing of material values in collective life, regardless of whether this person or another person.
This is a very important condition for ensuring the harmony of a collective, because when one follows this principle, no one distinguishes between personal and collective rights. Every material value is equal to all people and must be equally distributed to all equally.
As the name implies, the six principles of  Harmony harmonize  and respect each other as the basis. This means that there is absolutely no distinction between high and low positions, irrespective of agility or foolishness. This is the biggest difference compared to the way we behave in life, which always depends on the difference between objects to produce different behaviors.
A famous seamstress to order a long dress. The shopkeeper asked, "How long have you been a mandarin?" When the officer left, an apprentice in the dress shop asked the shopkeeper: "Sir, it's just a dress. How long have you been serving? The shopkeeper replied, " Because luck must be different. Newcomers must be sewn in front of a long, short waist; And the mandarins have long been the reverse. "
The story carries the sense of humor, irony of haughtyness, the contempt of the newcomer as well as the crookedness and disgust of those who live long in the field. However, it also speaks to the nature of the coin, the discrimination of most people. Depending on the time of the " elephant " or " down the dog ", there are different ways to treat other people, as well as depending on their class, what role to play for other behaviors. together.
The difference in the way the Alzheimer's principle behaves is not so, not depending on the different roles in society, nor depends on whether one's shoulder is high or low, but only one. It all depends on the personality of each person only. For example, for people who like to say short, it should be said briefly, for those who love expressing emotions, express emotions, as well as for those who are deeply quiet, avoid the loud booing ...
Since everyone is oriented towards harmony and mutual respect, contact is always open, friendly without letting go.
For more than 25 centuries, the glass is always the size of the monk's ordination, helping life in the Sangha always maintain harmony, peace. But not only that, if we know how to properly apply the glass of Hyacinth into our daily lives, it will certainly achieve harmony with all the people around us.END=NAM MO CAKYA MOUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.THE MIND OF ENLIGHTENMENT.VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=GOLDEN LOTUS MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.15/6/2017.
